    Hello

As Mr SA now has a wheelchair - would he consider the wheelchair accessible seats - no steps and tickets buy on get one free - carers normally go free - well that's been the case in the O2 Wembley and Manchester arena

Thanks ladies but he just doesn't want to go. He's never been one for theatre/concerts. It was a good try!

Back on the wagon today WW wise. Have done 21000 steps and 7 minute workout 3 times. Stuck to my points. I have never known the days go by so quick since I went back to meetings, it always seems to be weigh in day!

Mr SA has stripped another square metre of wallpaper off. He might be done by Christmas.

Half way through the week already! Weigh in day again tomorrow - not holding out much hope for a loss this week as I went slightly astray at the weekend. Back on track Monday though. Did a Zumba class yesterday after work plus walked to and from work.

Had an absolutely ridiculous quote for a TV aerial today - £620!!!!!!!! Just for 2 portable TVs!! They must be joking!! So bought 2 indoor aerials from Amazon for £12.99 each, job done.

Tesco online order tonight. They sent me a voucher for £15 off £85 spend so took advantage.

Work wise, my manager has told me not to worry about contract, things are happening in the background to bring me in house it's just taking a long time due to legalities, they have to make sure everything is right. So I guess I'll have to sit tight a while longer.

Mr SA has told me he thinks I'm making him do too much with the wallpaper stripping and the aerial man coming today. I'm a slavedriver apparently.

Beanie that quote will go in the ridiculous quotes file along with the £7k quote from British Gas for a new boiler!

The indoor aerials from Amazon are great. They are paper thin - just little squares and do the job very nicely.

Can't believe it's Sunday afternoon already. Time is flying by. Put half a pound on at WW :o Feel like I'm not doing very well at the moment - I've only lost 1.5 pounds since I started back. Anyway I've filled in my menu plan for the week ahead and will keep trying. I'm going to run for 30 minutes later on today, 7 minute workout 3 times tomorrow, Zumba Tuesday, run again Wednesday and 7 minute workout x 3 on Friday. Just gone through my freezer and done an inventory of all the stuff in there and pointed all my food.

Still no further on with stripping the hallway. I was going to try and do some this weekend but we were in town yesterday and I don't really feel like it today. Mr SA reckons he'll have another go starting tomorrow. I'd really like it finished by Easter if possible, stripped, walls sanded down, painted, new lampshades and clean the stair carpet. Should be do-able.

  • Evening SA,

Nevermind you're not doing well with WW, you've lost 1.5lbs lady!! Thats a great loss and you need to google and lb of fat and look at the pictures to see how much that is!!!

£620 for the aerials , ours were about £100 when we moved in and I thought that was steep :rotfl: xx

My 12 foot mast came in cheaper than that!! How I wish I could use indoor aerials. Green with envy here! I even had a sky dish included for less than that. Glad to hear you gave them the elbow.

    Hello folks!

I should know better than to make plans - the day after my last post I fell foul of the dreaded cough/cold that seems to be doing its rounds. So no exercise for me last week. I managed to struggle into work somehow, I shouldn't have really I felt really rough. I didn't even make it to WW. I was in bed by 8.30 most nights so haven't even been on MSE - what a week!

So back on track now and as it's payday and the last day of the month I'm going to look back on my achievements.

    1. Weight - lost 1.5lbs - not as much as I'd hoped for and I get the feeling my WW leader isn't over-impressed with me - but onwards and upwards I will not give up.

    2. Exercise - had a nice pattern going until last week. However, I'm back at Zumba tomorrow and will see how I go from there.

    3. Spending less - doing ok-ish on this front. I want to spend much less on groceries though and haven't been doing very well on this front. More effort required.

    4. Savings - now got £143.71 in my VSP and have put £150 in my ISA this month.

    5. House - Mr SA was getting nowhere fast with the wallpaper stripping so despite not feeling that good I took it over and got more done in 2 hours than he'd done in 3 weeks. The result is the hall, stairs and landing are almost stripped now. Aim is to paint it at Easter so Mr SA just needs to finish the stripping, sand down the walls and fill a few holes.

    6. I've booked another holiday in June - Majorca. Hopefully this will spur me on WW-wise. Realistically I should really put the cost of a holiday towards a new boiler but holidays are what keep me plodding on through the dark days and not wanting to sound morbid I never know whether Mr SA will stay well enough to go away again so I try to go whenever I can afford it. It keeps Mr SA plodding (or rather shuffling) on too. Worth every penny.

Mr SA has had a visit from the incontinence nurse - funnily enough the day after he got up in the middle of the night and mistook our bedroom carpet for the toilet! Not happy about having to disinfect the carpet at 1am, I was sound asleep, it woke me up. He has to keep a tick chart of when he goes to the loo and when he has accidents. The nurse gave him some pads but he's not too happy about wearing them. She's coming back tomorrow to see how he's been getting on. On thing that transpired is that she was shocked he's being left on his own all day. It's made him come around a bit to the idea of having a carer for maybe just a couple of days a week for an hour or so just to get out of the house.

I took a day off work today to make a long weekend to shake off the remnants of my cold/cough so we've been in town for a coffee and I got a fab bargain from New Look - a leather-look coat reduced to £20. It looks lovely on. Also had to buy a new microwave as our old one, despite not being quite 3 years old, was playing up. Got one half price from Argos - ordered it last night and they delivered it today.

Need to catch up with diaries now. Here's to a good March for us all
