Awake early again but not complaining as woke up to glorious sunshine streaming through window. Can't wait to get out and about in it! Going to make a huge lot of vegetable stew in slow cooker today with bag of casserole veg and some pearl barley. This will do me for work lunches all week. I roasted some veg last night and will turn this into roast veg lasagne tonight.
Cold is still on the mend and feels so much better than it did on Friday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Hello all!
Got loads done today - feeling so much better and the sunshine is helping. Finally posted that ESA form.
Went to hospital with DD and DS this afternoon we got a taxi and it was only £6 so between 3 of us so cheaper than bus and so much easier. Mr SA continues to improve although he tried to get out of bed last night by himself and fell. He didn't hurt himself thankfully. In one way this is a good sign as it's the first time he's tried to do this he's been too immobile before. And for the first time since all this happened I've been able to get him a coffee from the coffee shop in the ward which he enjoyed so much. He is determined he is going to cope with chemo and thankfully has a very positive attitude. He's still saying the odd daft thing but is laughing at what he's said when he realises. He's given me a long list of things he needs tomorrow and the £ signs are floating past me!!
My cold is drying up very nicely and I finally feel normal again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Not woken up by fur babies for a change this morning but by beautiful sunshine and birds singing (and the fact that I forgot to un-set alarm for today!!!!). Have already had text from Mr SA so he is up early too - his room is very sunny. Can't complain about being woken up by sunshine!
Will have to do outside jobs today as it's far too nice to be indoors. Hope everyone else reading this has a nice bank holiday.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Thanks P and taxi
Mr SA will be starting his chemo Thursday or Friday. He has had numerous tests, chest x-rays and scans and everything is coming back free of infection so up to now all set to go ahead. He is happy because he has had very nice steak today cut like butter he said (is this really the NHS!!!). Nurse was surprised too.
My cold has just about cleared up -I'm still a bit sniffly but feel fine.
I spent most of the day in the garden but seem to have created more work for myself by b*****ing up pond pump. Don't ask!!! DS seems to think he can sort it out. Why do I always fiddle with things I don't know anything about? What a lovely day - may there be many more of them this summer!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
SO lovely to come on here and read lovely news. And steak too!
have work to do so can't stay will be back to check up on you tomorrowxx
Nevertheless she persisted.0
