Hi everyone!
Mr SA still doing fine. He's had the stitches from his head removed and all that's left to go now is the catheter. He has phoned me twice today but as his voice is barely audible it was a strange conversation.
I've been thinking about how to work out budget and pay off debt. As I have £600 left over after bills I've decided to split this into 4 lots of £150. I'm going to try and spend a lot less than this per week and whatever is left over at the end of the week will go to paying off the Barclaycard. This I think is the best way I can do it. Today I bought 2 pairs of pyjama bottoms for Mr SA which he can wear with t-shirt in hospital. Hopefully at some stage he will be getting some kind of sick benefit and this will help a lot.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Just checking in SA xxxx
Good night lovely xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hello Sun.A, :hello:
Sounds like your DH is doing very well.
Hope you're feeling a bit better now too. You'll find yourself becoming an expert on avoiding catching bugs..0 -
well done sa the clots in the lung are often just a symptom of the cancer ,when pts come in with new dvt,pe they automatically get checked for cancer now as this can be an underlying cause of them rather than clotting factor being wrong .
glad you are starting to see light peeking through at the end of the tunnel ,mind and take care of yourself though my friend is away for last radiotherapy today xSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0 -
Thanks all - and thanks elly for the info re blood clots - it's all falling into place now.
He was sitting in a chair at the side of his bed tonight - first time this has happened. He is also now on soft food instead of pureed so another step forward. He still hasn't got his voice back - speech therapist was talking about it to me - she thinks it's to do with trachy but I told his voice going was one of his symptoms before he was admitted to hospital. He also has blood in urine which they are looking at. He still has catheter in which he's finding painful plus he has water infection.
I am still feeling rough -sore throat and cough, aching all over. Probably shouldn't be hospital visiting but he would be so disappointed if I didn't go and I tried not to get too close to him.
Moneywise I've paid £5 off Barclaycard. This is this week's extra payment per week and it's courtesy of the Halifax monthly reward. So this now stands at £1505. Not doing great with challenge to spend a lot less than £150 per week as have already spent just over £100!!!! Was hoping to aim for £75 a week. Need to rein myself in a bit. However not bought anything exciting just food and the 2 pairs of pyjama bottoms for Mr SA.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

All hell has broke loose with my cold - coughing, sneezing, everything aches even my teeth! They tried to make me go home when I turned up for work this morning. Everyone keeps saying I look awful! Don't feel too bad at the moment and at least I have the long weekend to recover.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
