Woken up early again by my 17 year old cat. He tries to get me up to feed him it's like having a naughty toddler! He disturbed the dog and so had to get up to let her out. Could do without this.

Well it's Mr SA's birthday today. Not quite the birthday we had planned we should be celebrating on that lovely holiday we had booked. I just hope we can look back on all this this time next year and make up for it. Can't imagine it at the moment. Wish someone could convince me it will all turn out right in the end. I downloaded a book on his Kindle last night - one he has been wanting to read for some time. However if he's got to keep gloves on he won't be able to use it.

Today I need to do a online shop for next week, have another attempt at filling in hol insurance form, make soup for work lunches and walk dog. I would also like to do my nails at some stage as they have been neglected just lately.

Happy Birthday to Mr SA..he's a monkey with those tubes
  • Happy birthday Mr SA! I hope you get a good day with him today Xx

My DH also had his birthday in hospital, 9 days after the accident. We took a balloon in and tied it to the bed as well as giving him cards. He kept looking at them going "who's birthday is it??"!! Our wedding anniversary was the next day too but I decided just to ignore that!!! We had another 'birthday' for him 9 weeks later when he got home.

I think a pamper evening (including nail painting) would be perfect for you tonight Xx

    Thank you all!

Yes taxi he is a monkey with those tubes - 4 times now he's had them out!

He seemed a lot better tonight. He likes his kindle fire although he's not really ready for it to be left with him. He asked me if he is going to get better and I told him yes but it will take time. He raised another smile tonight when he said bloke in bed opposite had a bottle of champagne last night - he has just come from intensive care and is flat out! The whole family turned up tonight all except for DD. Brother and wife, sister and husband and DS. Don't know what DD is on with. She was meant to go back to work today but didn't. She has been in her room all day and now she's out.

Didn't get round to eBaying - forgot about to be honest although I have spent on eBay - bought kindle cover last night. Still haven't filled in claim form - will do this at work tomorrow. Also need to chase up doctor re form and sick note. There just aren't enough hours in the day at the moment.

i know you have a lot on your plate sa and i dont want to worry you further but be careful with dd,some people feel an awful lot of remorse ,shame, depression after termination even if it was on doctors advice and with her dad being unwell it might be the reason for her avoidance of people .a lot of post termination think other people can tell what they have done strange but true .,hope you manage some sleep tonight

Hi Buffy -think we have just crossed posting on each other's diaries!

I've done enough for today and tomorrow is another day. Sometimes I'm too hard a taskmaster on myself. I do like a good To Do list though! Like to tick things off!

Have just done my nails - bought a gorgeous nail varnish from Superdrug for only £3.49 on offer. The assistant said "do you want the free goody bag" and of course I said yes and she gave me a lovely little bag filled with all sorts of freebies - mini lipstick, eyeshadow, BB cream and some other face creams. Brilliant - make is called B. Bargain!!!

Thanks elly - I think you're right. I also think she's embarrassed in front of family as she has put on a lot of weight just lately and with her also being so tall (nearly 6ft) she stands out a lot.
