    Morning

Glad OH is sitting up and improving it must be a bit of relief to at least see him awake xx

As for the balance transfer I agree with Buffy, I'd transfer then still aim to pay it off but at least it takes the pressure off a little bit why things arent easy anyway x

Hi SL, I found your diary from Lucky's diary. I've subscribed, and I'm sending my prayers for your DH's rapid and full recovery, and my hope that your financial situation stays on the path of improvement that you have been on.

Headway is a great source of information, practical, financial, and emotional for the individual and for their family.

Thanks everyone I'm touched by your messages

OH continues to improve by the day. He was more alert tonight and is allowed to eat ice cream and yoghurt. His voice is getting a bit louder and he is writing loads - says he's missing Costa coffee and steak! And me of course! Bought him a card for the bedside TV - can't believe this costs £10 for 3 days free view!! What a rip off!! It's his birthday on Sunday and people have suggested I get him a Kindle Fire so I can download stuff on it for him. However he has an iPod and smart phone that do all this sort of stuff so would it be a waste of money? We've got an iPad but it would have to be surgically removed from my left hand!! Don't know what I'd do without it at the moment.

Pub lunch again with workmates today which was really nice.

I think I'll hang fire with the balance transfer. Another offer will come up nearer the time no doubt and I'd like to at least have a go at clearing it first. Thanks all for your advice.

That is great news. REALLY REALLY great news! Missing Costa is funny tho!

A Kindle fire is brilliant - I have one, I love it! It is good for watching stuff as well and is a cheaper alternative to another Ipod thingy.

I reckon holding off is a good plan on the CC you are right when you say another offer will come up( I had one from Tescos and nearly took it and then decided not to and then the barclays one showed up so I decided it was fate!) and having that focus in the meantime would give you something else to think about. I don't know you very well but you do strike me as someone who "does" and really actually does stuff not just talks about it.

Right I am off to mark, you take care, hope your girl is ok and you sleep well xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • So pleased to hear OH is making good progress.

I can also recommend the Kindle Fire (HD) - they're brilliant

    Evening all!

No change in OH tonight although he had pulled out feeding tube again (3rd time now!) so mittens were back on. Apart from that he's doing ok.

Bought a Kindle Fire today for his birthday - hope he will be able to use it by Sunday. I'm going to put a book he wanted on it, some music and some games. Hoping this will come in handy when he's having his chemo. Also bought a bus pass for one month as this will save me a lot of money. After also buying some beeswax and cloths to try and renovate stained waxed pine cupboard there wasn't a lot of change from a £200 spend today!!!!
