    Hello Sun.A, :hello:

Great news that DH is making such good progress! :D

You are coping amazingly well, you know. :)
I wouldn't even have considered adding "Ironing" to the list you've given yourself today!

    Thank you all

Not a lot of change in him tonight. He is back on neuro war where he started off before biopsy but tonight he was just asleep again. He woke up briefly to ask how long he'd been in hospital.

Done everything on my list bar the insurance claim and registering DS on HMRC. Might do these in a bit. Took ages and ages to sort his stuff for accountant and don't even ask about ESA claim form!!!! The stuff they want to know!!!! Have been able to sign it on his behalf. Now need to get doctor's letter and then can send off. Also need doctor's letter for insurance claim. What a faff!!

Dog has been on park and has had two street walks so she can't complain. Made soup, quorn lasagne for DD and pizza for me.

Getting used to being on my own now - he may have a fight on his hands for the TV remote when he comes home!! Looking forward to seeing that day - can't imagine it at the moment though.

  • Hello Sun Addict

Very impressed by all your doings, and so glad hubby is making good progress. Not sure on the quorn soup front still each to their own ;)

I am just off to bed. I am trying to be patient with Mum -- not a strong suit of mine.

So just sending love right now as I am away to bed

    Take care lovely xxxx

Hi re: letter to be ? signed by Doctor..
If you use Gp/Consultant you will be charged £25 plus.. but have used ward sister/matron ward Doctor. They should also have attached a social worker - who will be used to filling in Esa claims they are a night mare - we needed individual forms/letters from drs for each claim it mounts up and some are only for 30 days so you end £ out of pockets will trying to claim insurance to pay monthly payments.
Esa - did not kick in for 6 months for us as hubby was weeks over retirement age!! So from SE to medically retired no income and unable to claim benefits because of age.
Esa arranged for me to be able to sign and deal with all communication and we received Attendence Allowance after 6 months.
Hospital car parks - you should be able to buy weekly/monthly ticket at reduced price see ward clerk.
You forgot an item on your list. Look after you take 30 mins out for you to chill - no phones no multi tasking jobs in your mind. Take a few minutes to yourself even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom -
    take care
    Andrea

    Thanks all

Not quorn soup Buffy quorn lasagne - soup was roast veg and very nice actually (just had a bowl for lunch). Don't like the sound of quorn soup!!

tuna - doctor is doing sick note for free and also holiday insurance claim form. I don't drive so am going to get bus pass as it will work out cheaper and I won't have to have the right change all the time. And I did chill last night - I had a lovely soak in the bath and then put my feet up with a large glass of red and watched TV.

OH was sitting up in bed when I got to hospital tonight. He was listening to the radio. He has been out of bed today in head injury chair. So a bit more progress. He asked for pen and paper and wrote thank you for coming - writing was terrible but at least he could do it. It's heartbreaking to see him so helpless but he's come a long way since last week. His voice is barely audible but he's trying. He is having speech therapy.

Have been tempted by balance transfer offer from my Virgin card which is clear but I haven't got round to cancelling yet. Offer is 0% until April 2014. Tempted to transfer Barclaycard balance on to this as doubt I'll be able to pay it off by end August - would need to pay at least £320 a month to clear it. Had all this not happened it wouldn't be a problem but might struggle on just my wages. But then I so wanted to get rid of this part of debt and it would be a challenge for me to focus on, something else besides hospitals. Mmm.....

  • I am meant to be marking but hey ho, good news OH is sitting up :) Must have made your day! :):)

    CCness

    Gut feeling -
I think do the transfer to the card, AND still aim to pay it off or set an amount to pay of by the end of the year - honestly I think you are sort of heading in to the unknown in some ways - you won't know the time demands the "on times" and the off times" - as in when you will be needed to help OH and how much, if you will want to work, what benefits you may get. Having a pain in the !!!! debt to worry about as well isn't necessary?

I suppose doing the transfer would cost you though?

    Thinking about it -
You have described yourself as a doing girl.....would it be something you can do? how predictable are your bills? outgoings etc? Can you spare 320 a month? Can you e bay?? overtime? will you want to?

sorry you know all this just thinking aloud. I wonder if just set the April 2014 as the new goal?

I am going to do a balance transfer for the rest of my loan and pay it off by Jan 2014. In theory...............

any how hope I haven't upset you with the questions

    Sleep well
