  • I was able to get a nurse to sign the forms with a note saying that my DH was unable to at the time. Hopefully it will be the same for you.

Fingers crossed for more improvements today Xx

you see this kind of thing is why I love MSE, I was sitting here thinking crikey how will Sun Addict get her hubby to sign the forms - I did have visions of you holding his hand or something and that is ridiculous! And then someone who has had experience comes along with the answer which now I think of it is very logical but we all share what we know here and that is so good. It is like having a village to help youx

Pleaseletmebelucky - hope you fella is doing well and you look after yourself

Sun Addict - hope hubby is still doing well xxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Thanks Buffy! It is hard as the DWP have strict policies but sometimes needs must and alternative routes can be taken. You just need to know what the routes are!!

My OH is nearly 2 years post accident and unfortunately still has problems, but he is still here and that is what matters. I've got everything crossed for SA and her DH. It's VERY hard in the early days :(. Xx

    Thanks all!!

Today's progress is head drain is now off and tracheostomy tube will come off in the next couple of days. Still not opening his eyes but he says he's trying and he's very responsive so they're not worried. He was complaining about tracheostomy tube hurting his neck so I rubbed some moisturiser on it. I guess the fact he's starting to complain is a good sign! He will be transferred to a different hospital for chemo - one which specialises in cancer treatment and this hospital will be easier for me to get to as I won't have to cross city centre.

Re the signing forms thing - when my mum had brain tumour (someone up there really has it in for me!!) I needed to get some money out of her bank as she had a load of bills come in. The bank accepted a squiggle as that was all she could do. Very sympathetic cashier understood as he had also had brain tumour.

Have only just managed to get my dinner but sitting here now with dog on my knee, cat at the side of me and a glass of wine in front of me watching TV and posting on here. Need to start watching what I spend now as have been drawing money out willy-nilly and still another 12 days to payday. Have had a funny day today -a kind of "why me" day. Guess this is a normal feeling in my situation.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

It's perfectly normal to feel "why me". I came to the conclusion that I must have been a proper bi-atch in my last life!! :rotfl:

Am always pleased to hear that a patient is starting to complain - usually an excellent sign! :D

Good news that DH is going to transfer to a more convenient specialist hospital, too.

Hope you sleep well tonight, Sun.A. :)

Great news that he is starting to complain..that means he's getting better..also great news that they already seem to have started plans for his treatment so not too much waiting about.
The range of feelings you're experiencing are all normal honey and one of the most important things is that you look after your health both physically and mentally.Never feel alone or bottle things up as there are counsellors at the hospital and lots of helplines as well as well as us lot xxx
Take care and try to eat well x
