Thanks so much all of you! :A

I can put in smilies now not on iPad!!

I've paid £3.46 to my VSP today so now have £148.15 and paid £10 for extra payment a week challenge to Barclaycard so this now stands at a nice(??) round £1600. Don't know how much I'll be able to pay off in the coming weeks/months but will keep chipping away at it. 0% ends in August so need to get my skates on as this means I should be paying off about £400 per month!!

Going to see OH later on. His brother is finally paying a visit and he said he will see me there. Hope he turns up!

Will keep you all updated later.

What an improvement tonight! OH finally has his eyes open! He is more or less fully conscious maybe slightly confused due to steroids but bless him he kissed my hand! He has had tracheostomy removed and they are very pleased with him. He is "talking" but you can hardly hear him but he will be getting speech therapy for this. He asked how long he'd been in hospital and also asked for a drink of water which I was allowed to give him via a syringe.

His consultant came to see him and she says biopsy confirms lymphoma and he will start aggressive chemo in 2-4 weeks depending on how he recovers from this stint. Prognosis only used to be 2 years but nowadays we are looking at 8, 9, 10 years who knows. He will be monitored closely in the long term. He will stay on high dependency for few more days then back to neuro ward. Later he will go to head injury rehab in specialist unit which is lovely place apparently home from home. She is amazed at his progress and says some people take weeks to get to his stage.

    Feel tons happier tonight!

Thanks P!! Just keeping fingers crossed chemo works!! They all seem very positive though.

Meant to mention his brother did turn up after all and he was glad he turned up at such a good time. He will visit him again very soon. Everyone has been so worried about him. He has been focus of prayer groups and everything!

Thanks taxi - gosh you burn the midnight oil (or you get up very early)!

Not a lot to report tonight. OH was asleep all the time I was there so left after an hour as was bored. He 's still doing great the nurse said but had pulled out feeding tube earlier on - so he is misbehaving already!

Tomorrow he is to go to a normal neuro ward as he is not ill enough for high dependency ward.

DS has mowed lawn for me. DD has gone back to being useless but then she has her own issues with termination at the moment. She has had it done by tablets.

Have had a very busy day today - took dog on park twice, went to hairdressers, cleaned the whole house, went to hospital and now I'm cooking roast veg for work soups next week and salmon and veg for my dinner.

Have recently changed over to npower and bit miffed with them as they have sent me email confirming monthly payment of £132 split £100 for electricity and £32 for gas. I do not spend as much as £100 on electricity a month and only £32 on gas!!! How on earth have they worked this out?? What a bizarre split! I feel an angry phone call coming on!

Dear me I'm shattered just reading about what you have got up to today!

It's a bummer when you get sleepy days during visiting at hospital. I remember the early days after DH's accident when he would only wake up to tell me how tired he was before he went back to sleep :rotfl:. It's funny now but it sure wasn't at the time! Especially when I was exhausted and running on empty and all he had done was sleep for 5 days!!! I felt like turfing him out of the bed and getting in myself :o.

I hope your DD is ok. It's not quite the same but I had to have medical management after the miscarriage and it's not nice (to state the obvious!).

    Good luck with npower! Xx

Glad OH is starting to improve, going to be a long haul and you will be on an emotional rollercoster just remember we are here for you. At times it can feel wierd as if you are in different universe, one minute in a hospital with seriously ill people and then doing normal jobs like cooking and meal planning.

Glad DS is doing the odd job at home, every little helps and thinking of your DD at this difficult time for her.x

Have been woken up far too early by my 17 year old cat miaowing for me to feed him. This had made dog bark. Yawn!!

I have loads to do today before hospital visit:

    1. Get OH's stuff together to send to his accountant
    2. Register DS on HMRC site so I can file his tax return on line
    3. Fill in holiday insurance claim form
    4. Fill in OH's ESA claim form
5, Make soup for work lunches (already roasted veg so just need to liquidise)
    6. Take dog on park or for a very long walk round streets
    7. Ironing

Phew! Looking at this list I need to get up now!! DS is coming with me to hospital today. I've had to lend him £320 over the last couple of weeks while he gets back on his feet with work. He worked with OH and can't drive but his friend who is out of work has car and has been labouring for him. They were paid next to nothing for the few days it took them to finish off job started when OH was starting to go downhill. Firm they worked for said tough that's all the money left on job. This is sub contracting for you. Fortunately DS has now started with another firm. However his friend has job interview for proper job so DS is hoping he doesn't get it!
