Looking for the silver lining

I just had another one of those caught sight of myself in the shop window today and thought oh dear!
Top Sante. I might investigate that. I gave up magazines years ago when I first started here - proper hard core MSE! and now never buy them.
I am going to start yoga - a mate has been doing it for awhile and reports great success. And walking.
Eating is the thing tho!

Wish I could give up magazines - I'm obsessed with them, got loads of subscriptions and still buy some. Don't have time to read them really so they pile up. I get plenty of exercise so must eat/drink too much. Need to track it all I suppose. Toying with the idea of finding a WW class and re-joining as a lapsed Gold member. Cancelled the WW online as not following it properly so waste of money. Got to do something as clothes getting rather snug fitting. Can highly recommend joining a class for weight loss - the fear of being weighed in public plus the fact you're paying for it are great motivators. Worked for me last time I did it.
Can you believe this - I bought Mr SA a shirt on my Debenhams card, bill came and I thought I'd paid it off in full, turns out I'd paid 10p short so this month's bill is 20p - 10p interest. Doh!!!! Stupid me!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi SA and Buffy
I think everyone is on the weight loss wagon - if you want some online support come and join us on MiT's thread.
Some of us have been doing no sweet treats for a few weeks and now we have moved on to a 12week diet.
Each person is doing their own diet but we are posting for moral support.
I have tried the 5:2 diet and it is surprisingly easy to do once you have done the first fast day. Remember you are only ever a day away from eating normally again.
I lost quite a bit of weight on it, I am gluten free at the moment so have been concentrating on that but next week I will start 5:2 again.
Feel free to join us0 -

Thanks all
My plan is Monday and Wednesday I eat very low cal but not as low as 500 calls but probably around 800. Tuesday and Thursday eat slightly more as Tuesday is Zumba day and Thursday will be a toning exercise day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will still be quite good but allow myself a couple of glasses of wine. Mon to Fri I walk to and from work (6 miles in total). Aiming to do 16000 steps a day. I'm using the chart I got out of the Top Sante magazine this month as I like charts and ticking things off lists. If I stick to this plan I should be able to shed around 5/6lbs before holiday. My downfall isn't really food it's wine. Example menu - today I've eaten porridge for breakfast, Special K bar mid morning, home made butternut squash soup, yoghurt and berries for lunch, 2 crispbread and cottage cheese as snack when I got home from work (starving after 3 mile uphill walk and we don't eat until 7.30) then white fish cooked in tin foil with lemon and bay leaves accompanied by loads of veg.
Money-wise I've paid £30 off debt so now under £2k at £1970. Would have liked to have paid more off but thanks to overspending just lately had to make clearing spending card a priority. Also holiday was £141 more than I had saved in holiday fund so had to put that towards it. So June won't be a good month for debt busting. Really need to get to grips with sticking to a budget. It goes fine until the weekend then Mr SA wants to go in town "for a coffee" which turns into shopping then lunch out. I am trying to allow for this though. I seem to be spending a small fortune on food at the moment so working on that area. Personally after being at work all week I am happy to spend the weekend at home but Mr SA is at home all week and wants to go out at the weekend. We are trying to compromise by one day do what he wants and what I want the other.
Somehow think diets and budgets are very similar.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Diets and budgets are similar.

Can't believe it's nearly a week since I last posted. Mr SA fine bar a couple of falls, one being at the top of the stairs!!! If it hadn't been for the grab rail he would've gone down them. Phew!
Lost 1lb in weight, better than nothing I suppose. Budget not bad but needs looking at tomorrow. 2 weeks until payday. Mr SA managed to cadge 2 more t shirts on shopping trip yesterday. He claims to be making up for last year.
Nice lunch with work mates Friday, non stop chat, just what I like
Fed up of football already
