Mr SA a lot better yesterday although he had a fall at the top of the stairs! We went into town yesterday for a coffee and he ended up spending £60 in Primark on summer stuff (again!). He was a bit optimistic with the shorts as he got waist 34 and they're too tight, so I'm changing them for him today. Good job I work in town!

Glad to hear MrSA has perked up again, although those stairs must be a worry for you.

MrSA does enjoy going shopping, doesn't he? Guess it's hard to be strict with him, after the year [STRIKE]he's[/STRIKE] you've both had..

Hello all! I haven't disappeared! Just been really busy with work and Mr SA and not really had time to update my diary.

Had a couple of issues at work which have now been resolved, involving me having to ensure my job security as it looked to me as though they were trying to share my work out to other people. They said they thought they were easing the pressure on me - mmm! Anyway the workload is all mine again but if I get bogged down then I've to ask for help and they have assured me I'm staying put! Phew!

Just filed DS's SA tax return on line and he will be getting a rather nice rebate of just over £1100 - so I think he owes me a bottle (or two) of wine as his unpaid accountant. His baby is due in 6 weeks so it will be a nice amount to ease the added expense.

I have been very free range of late with my finances. Mr SA has been badgering for this that and the other - eg trips into town, pub lunches, etc. But it's not all down to him, I have been guilty of not sticking to the budget for the last few days. BUT it all stops now before things get out of control and I end up skint! Diet has also gone into freefall and I was shocked this morning when I weighed myself to find I am now 10lbs over my WW goal weight and as I only lost 16lbs when I did WW I'm almost back to square one! Not happy with myself at all. This is what happens when I stop budgeting and stop tracking what I eat. I had the WW free three months online thing, hardly used it although I think it's a fab app, forgot to cancel it and have just found I've paid £11 for the next month's membership. SO I think it's given me an incentive to use it now I'm paying and to finally lose the excess weight. I started as I meant to go on this morning by taking the dog running - killed two birds with one stone!

We might be going on holiday again at the end of June/early July if we can find a bargain. I've got the money put to one side so I'll see what's on offer nearer the time. It would be great for Mr SA to have something to look forward to as he's been a bit down just lately.

He's been very unsteady on his feet again just lately, he seems to have reached a plateau in his recovery. You would laugh - I was walking him down our road yesterday holding on to him and telling him to be careful when I went over on my ankle and nearly had us both over. He said - "now who's unsteady on their feet". It was quite funny I suppose.

Something else which might make you laugh - I bought an M&S dine in for 2 offer yesterday, the main course being a rotisserie style chicken which Mr SA liked the look of. Now I'm a vegetarian but don't have a problem cooking meat for others. Well the chicken was brown in colour and I assumed it was already cooked. I took it out of the fridge at 7pm last night to put in the oven just to warm up when I realised it said cook for 1 hour 45 minutes - it was just a glaze, it wasn't cooked! Mr SA couldn't wait until nearly 9pm for dinner so we ended up ordering a pizza. However, it's on the menu for tonight and will be going in the oven when I've typed this! What am I like?

I still haven't made another payment to debt to take it under £2k. I'm savouring that moment for when I've sorted out my finances on payday (Friday). I really need to see what's what and make sure my spending card is clear first.

Hope everyone enjoys the Bank Holiday. The weather here was dire yesterday, today has been largely sunny but not a patch on last week!

Thanks ladies! Mr SA has been a bit random again today - and embarrassing in a local shop when he asked me if the person in front of us was male or female as he couldn't tell!!! He slipped in the shower as well. Sigh!! Oh Beanie sorry to hear about your falls, it must be so frustrating, I know Mr SA gets so fed up about it.

DS's GF let him have a day out with his mates at our local pub, she dropped him off at ours just after lunch and he came back to ours about 9pm rather the worse for wear. She was not best pleased when she picked him up. Oh dear!

  • Make sure you don't book the holiday over the babies due date! That would be the sort of thing I do and then go and miss it ;) xx

Baby is due 11 July but obviously could be early or late. We'll just have to take our chances. Feels a bit different with it not being my daughter who's giving birth, if you know what I mean. I'll be honest and say I haven't bought anything at all for the baby yet. I will when she's born but I just can't get my head round it! I've asked what they need and they've got everything - might get vouchers then they can get what they want.

Mr SA had a home visit from the OT yesterday and she took him into town on the bus for a coffee. He had a dizzy turn though and felt unwell. He's ok now but the OT says she's seen it a lot with people with head injuries. Don't know why they keep making him go on the bus with them, must be part of neuro rehab. He hates buses and has no plans to use them on his own when/if he's able to.

Started yet another budget plan today (sigh). Hopefully I'll stick to it this time. Me, budgets and diets just aren't on the same planet at the moment.

Just popping in to say hello SA! I haven't been on here much lately.

Hope you're OK, as Buffy says. I would try not to put too much pressure on yourself about the budget and diet at the moment - you have a lot on your plate! Take care of yourself x
