Could he try a walking pole as opposed to a walking stick for balance. They look a lot more sporty and less old/disabled?

Your account of a shopping expedition with MrSA was enlightening; it must be so very difficult for you both coming to terms with the changes in your lives, especially as MrSA is unwilling to accept his current status of 'disabled'.
Truly, I applaud your strength and love for your DH. :T

    Seconded by me.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts :)

Anyway good news is he's still in remission! :):). Woo hoo!!!!

He's anaemic though and this is maybe causing extreme tiredness that's been bothering him. Consultant reiterated that he's not out of the woods yet and really shouldn't be here. Brain damage has showed up on the scan but thankfully not the lymphoma. He might not get much better than he is now - we should know by the end of the year and there is no way he can go back to roofing. He won't be able to drive again until autumn 2015, which he's not happy about and he wants me to check with DVLA.

He got his new summer jacket today - it's not really the sort of thing the old Mr SA would have chosen but he's happy!

Back to work tomorrow :( but will be glad to get back to normal really. Need to get budgeting head back on and need to get diet/exercise head back on. Also need to have proper conversation with someone!

That's brilliant news, I'm anaemic at the moment and can't believe quite how drained I feel, hopefully a few tablets and he'll start feeling better x

  • Fantastic news :T.

I also felt like a wet rag when I was anaemic, Mr SA has my sympathies.

    As do you! Xx

    Hi SA

Saw this and thought it might be useful for Mr SA?

Andy, the star of our May appeal, was feeling extremely low after his cancer treatment.
Jaye, his Macmillan nurse, suggested he attend a self-management course that she runs at her local hospital. The course helped Andy feel more like himself again, and offered a safe space to talk about his feelings.
Sometimes being part of a support group can allow someone to have that space to heal.

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Pity you weren't near me as I am involved with a charity than runs self management courses.
