    Awesome news indeed re PIP.
    Fantastic result.
But as you say difficult for Mr SA to come to terms with.
How long was it awarded for?
Will you get a wee amount to go towards some of debt?

Until March 2018. Of course he says he's not going to still be here then! Then he said he'd be back at work long before then!!!! Planning on keeping back as much as we can so we can do stuff we can't at the moment due to cost eg days out on train (until he can drive again). It will be a weight off his mind money wise as he's been stressing about being skint. Might be able to shave a bit off debt but at least now there's some extra money it looks like I might be on plan to hit the debt free by Christmas target. Weirdly this morning I was trying to work out how it could be done. And providing everything is ok with him health-wise it would be lovely to get away again in the summer. There are also loads of things we need for the house and yet more decorating. The list is endless! The main thing is the results of scan 2 weeks today - we are trying to put it out of our minds until after the holiday - but a good result would be the icing on the cake.

Great news about the PIP! Can understand how it is bitter sweet for Mr SA but it sounds like it will be a real help to you both and let's hope that one day he won't need it any more!

Wonderful timing re the PIP - that will allow you to relax the purse-strings a bit while you're on holiday - make the most of every long-awaited day away! :D

Another wallpaper-phobe here, lol. Years ago, I vetoed a house purchase solely because the whole place was wallpapered (otherwise it was ideal for our family).. Reason being, there were a couple of signs suggesting it was likely all the plaster would come off when the paper was removed, which was too much work to contemplate!

    Thanks ladies :)

Finally packed and ready for the off. Mr SA has had a fall on the park today. He was on his own with the dog. I was at hairdressers. He got himself up eventually thankfully. OMG we have been so lucky today - we went for lunch at local pub and I went straight there from hairdressers and he walked up on his own (it's just a 5 minute walk). When we got home the back door was wide open. He had forgotten to close it!!! Passports and euros safe thankfully. I could have throttled him! He tried to blame it on DD but she was at work. Bless him!

Will be so relieved to get to Lanzarote and put my feet up for a week. Usually on holiday we go walking for miles but I know there's no chance of that this time it'll be a fly and flop job! Feet up in the sun with a glass of sangria or cava - that'll do me! I'm going to miss my faithful little dog though!

A Jack Russell Beanie. She's as good as gold and was a real friend to me when Mr SA was in hospital.

We have wifi in the villa so I'll let you all know how we're going on. I am already under strict orders not to let him out of my sight at the airport. I can just see him getting on the wrong plane! (Mmm don't put ideas in my head!)
