Thanks all. Back at work so must be quick. Thanks for the info Satchmo - I've been trying to get him to go to lymphoma support group for a while now - still chipping away.

Thank goodness it's Friday. Only been back at work 3 days and feels like 3 weeks. Went for lunch with a couple of friends today which was a welcome break. Mr SA at neuro rehab yesterday but apparently was unco-operative with them. He is still fed up about not being able to go back to roofing and not being able to drive. OT said it's like a bereavement to him. Whatever - he's driving me mad

Sent letter to DWP for him about that retention repayment. Hopefully it hasn't opened a can of worms. Now he's had a letter from HMRC to fill in self assessment. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend? Also have to fill in one for DS!!! No rest for the wicked!

Apart from the above hoping for a quiet weekend with no trips into town. Going to get my nails done again tomorrow so looking forward to the pampering and break. Also plan to get my head back into gear re diet, exercise and budget.

Ended up going into town yesterday with Mr SA as awful weather would have meant we would be stuck indoors. I needed a pair of trainers to walk to work in so bought a pair from TK Maxx for £18. Mr SA got a pair of slip on casual shoes which will be easier for him to put on as he struggles with laces at the moment.

Today his PIP went in the bank so I paid £150 off debt, which is now down to £2150. When DD pays her board this Friday I'll pay another £150 off to hit target of £300 a month to clear debt by Christmas. Soon be in the ones! I'm hoping to put some of his PIP to one side for emergencies. TV has been playing up for a while now so no doubt will need replacing soon and we desperately need a new bed as it's about 17 years old now and not very comfortable, oh and the boiler is on its last legs ....the list goes on - sigh!

Beanie he got enhanced rate on both counts.

Quick update - Mr SA has now finished his course of childhood vaccinations. He's a bit off tonight with sore arm. Neuro people came to house yesterday to assess him re making a drink, getting from A to B, etc. I think they're running out of things to do with him. He fell over taking dog on park and hurt his knees.

I'm mega busy at work at the moment, the holiday is a distant memory now!

    Good evening everyone

What a gorgeous day today - hope this has been the case for everyone else. Can't believe how hot it's been.

Waiting for them to stop faffing about with football and BGT to come on. Mr SA is in bed not feeling well. He's aching and shivery. He's been off since he had the last lot of his childhood vaccinations on Wednesday. He had a fall on Thursday when he tried to mow the lawn so he's upset because he can't even do a simple thing like mow his own lawn (his words). So he's going on about feeling useless again. DS and GF stopped by today and he got mixed up and thought they were some old friends of ours!!! He says he's having strange thoughts (I get a bit worried when he says this in case he turns into a homicidal maniac - but hopefully they're not these sorts of thoughts!).

Aside from all that, I've paid another £150 off debt so it's now down to £2000. DD paid her board yesterday so it's courtesy of that.

Need to catch up on diaries and update my signature.

  • Sounds like things are still difficult for you SA. Does Mr SA have another appointment coming up soon where you can discuss recent events?

Been gorgeous weather here too today, makes such a difference doesn't it? Hopefully more of the same tomorrow.

Well done on the debt payment too. Must feel fab that you will be sub £2k with the next payment :j Xx
