Hello SA! Just catching up, I can't give much advice i'm afraid but I hope everything is ok. If DH is already on anti depressants should he be drinking at all, doesn't the alcohol wipe out the effects of the anti-d's so they don't work? Not sure what doseage he is on but I personally didn't notice a difference until my tablets were up to around 40mg a day xxxMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. He's on 20mg of Citalopram DFW.
Mr SA complaining of strange headache this morning which didn't last long but still worried him (and me!). He's got his scan results next Wednesday and appointment with consultant. Apparently consultant needs to review the results first with multi disciplinary team. Dreading it - why do we always assume it'll be bad news?
Taking the afternoon off work, meeting a couple of retired work mates. Feel like I need to de-stress, feel a bit on edge - I think it's the thought of next Wednesday looming over me.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Ah SA, it's no wonder you're on edge. Really hope that the headache is nothing to worry about and that Mr SA's results will be good. The waiting must be so hard!
Hope you have a lovely time with your retired work mates though. Am sure that will do you the world of good to have some time away and spend time with friends. Hope you manage to relax for a bit!0 -
Have a lovely afternoon with your friends SA
I was on citalopram for a long time and it didn't make much difference to me personally at that low dose, obviously Mr Sa might be different, but if he's still showing signs of depression perhaps they could up it by 10mg at a time until it's right for him. xMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. ^^^ Seconded (thank you Chardonnay :T).
Wanted to express the same thoughts last night but couldn't find words. This morning cursor was still flashing at the end of:

Thank you all. DFW - I'm going to mention upping the doseage next week when we see consultant. Since he's been on the medication I've seen no uplift in his mood so obviously not strong enough.
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday, we were chatting for hours! It really did me good. Very jealous about them being retired and all that freedom - although don't want to be that old yet!
I asked Mr SA's social worker for a copy of the care report to support the PIP claim. I said just a short note would do. Received a huge document, several pages long, very comprehensive. To be honest it reflects what I've put on the form so will be a good back up. Feel sorry for the caseworker who gets it on their desk though!
Mr SA had a phone call from someone he used to do work for yesterday offering him a whole load of roofing jobs when he's well enough. He's adamant he'll be able to go back to work soon. He struggles to get up the stairs at the moment let alone a ladder! Don't even know if he'll ever be able to go back to roofing!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
My DH was a roofer too, and he was told he wasn't allowed to return regardless as the insurance company wouldn't cover it. Of course we now know he couldn't do it anyway. It must be very hard for you when Mr SA is so adamant he will be fine very soon.
So glad you had a good time with your pals. Try to make it a regular event.
Fingers crossed for next Wed XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Thanks Lucky - can't see Mr SA ever going back to roofing either but he won't have it!
Had a carer's assessment today with social worker. I will get a one off carers payment of £200 so that's a nice touch - it's to be spent on me not anything else she says. Meant to be to allow the carer to have a day at a spa or similar. I'd love to get a decent pair of winter boots, can't afford the price even in the sales, looking at about £80. Anyway I'll wait until I get it before I start mentally spending it.
As I cancelled my bus pass I got a refund on the unused amount of £30.46 so have paid £30 off debt. It now stands at £2760. I'd like to pay the £60 oddment off next week on payday but I'll see how things look once I've paid off the spending card. Also paid £7.71 into my VSP today so that now has £42.14 in it.
Mr SA told me last night he had been very unwell at the weekend with headache, feeling sick and generally feeling awful. He didn't tell me as he didn't want to worry me. He says he feels ok now. Will be glad when we've got these scan results, at least we'll know what's what.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
good news e teh carer's payment - make sure you spend it on yourself
Well done on further debt reduction.
glad OH has finally come clean about how he was feeling - it's difficult enough without feeling he's hiding things from you.

Brilliant news re carer's assessment. I wasn't aware such things existed but you certainly deserve it!
Glad Mr SA cane clean about how he's been feeling. Make sure he doesn't try to brush over it with the Consultant XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
