Hello!
Well done on keeping on track with the budget and the savings with Virgin Media!
Also well done on running 5k on the treadmill. I have found that running has made more of a difference to my shape (not necessarily my weight) than any other exercise I've tried. Hope your weigh in goes well and you lose at least that pound!
Must be hard with SA. I guess it must be very frustrating for him not being able to work. He's bound to have down days where he's impatient with the recovery process. Well done for giving him a pep talk though and nice to hear that he sounds like he's listened to you. Hope he's in a more positive frame of mind today.0 -
Keep plodding

Hello SA
Dear Lord you are SO organised, you are my idol!
Glad you were able to give Mr SA a pep talk, Time, and things taking time is so frustrating and for Mr SA that phrase must be an understatement.
I shan't give you a pep talkwouldn't know what to say, just sending hugs and admiration.
keep posting XXXXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Bit of a kick in the teeth when they say things like it would have been better all round if they haven't survived, isn't it?! Almost makes you want to kick THEM in the teeth!!

Thank you all of you!
Mr SA has settled down quite a bit this weekend thank goodness! However budget has gone out of the window! Can't believe how much I've spent on food this weekend!!!!
Bad news is the boiler is on the blink again. If you can remember I had it repaired just a few weeks ago. I know they'll say I need a new one, it might even be at the stage where they say no more repairs. Can't afford a new one. If it doesn't come on tomorrow morning I'll have to ring up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hope they can nurse the boiler on for another few months.

Boiler decided to work again this morning so keeping fingers crossed was just a glitch.
Good news today in that we don't have to pay anything towards cost of carer, it's free (phew!!). The council rang to let me know but they mentioned did I know Mr SA would be entitled to PIP and he wasn't claiming. Told them this is in hand.
Just noticed my post from last night said "can't believe how much I spent on p this weekend" - what I meant was food, don't know where the "p" came from. Have now edited! This is what you get when you post using iPad!!
Now I'm on a proper computer - my budget has totally gone out of the window. I was doing ok until Saturday then Mr SA wanted to go for a Costa, on the way back we passed local pub where he announced he was tired and needed a rest (crafty eh?) so a drink each in there (managed to dissuade him from the burger and chips he wanted by saying I had them at home), then had to go to local shops for a few bits and bobs and then the same again Sunday (which I was planning on being a NSD) as Mr SA had run out of his coffee he likes. I was hoping to have something left out of what I thought was a very generous £130 budget but instead have ended up spending more! Going to start writing everything down but really I know where it's all going and its on food! When Mr SA was in hospital the stocks of the things he ate were run down or in the case of meat - given to the dog. This means that I've had to restock quite a lot just recently. Hopefully now stocks are being replenished the food bills should start to go down. I've always said he is expensive to keep!
Tomorrow is MRI scan on his brain so fingers crossed everything goes ok. So the day doesn't all revolve around the scan I'm taking the day off work and we're going for a Costa en route to the hospital then after the scan we're going to see the nurses on his old ward and then out for lunch. Another expensive day but this one has been budgetted for thankfully. I just want to try and make it a nice-ish day for him.
Realised I'm going to have to revise my debt-busting goals until Mr SA is back at work. Although my main aim is still to pay it off by Christmas, I'm not going to skint myself in order to do this. I can always balance transfer nearer the time if I have to. As Mr SA is talking about going on holiday as soon as permitted to I'm going to have to find the cash for this too! I think he thinks I've got an elastic pay packet! A holiday would do us both the world of good though.
Got my flu jab tonight - never had one before but doctors say I have to have one because of Mr SA.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hope all goes well tomorrow.
