  • Hey SA, have been a bit out of it this week!

Good news on the carers payment. And I am also glad Mr SA said about how he was feeling.

Re waiting for results - it is the worse bit of all it in my experience. The time passes slowly and you go from one feeling to another. And all I can say to you is hang on keep busy (which you are a dab hand at) and watch a few boxsets if you have any. All those annoying jobs, do them. Actually SA do what ever works and know that I am thinking of you XX

  • Hi SA, great news on the carer's payment. You make sure you spend it on you :) It's important that you keep yourself well and sane (!) in order to have the strength to be there for Mr SA.

Also pleased to hear you had a lovely afternoon with your friends. It sounds like it did you the world of good! :)

Sorry to hear that Mr SA hasn't been feeling well. As Buffy said, the waiting must be very hard, but will be keeping everything crossed that you have positive news on Wednesday.

Well done on keeping chipping away at the debt! Hope you have a nice Sunday.
  • hello SA,

hope you are having a good weekend - the rain here is getting on my nerves :)

    Thanks all :)

Not going to mentally spend the carer's payment until I've actually got it. From experience there is usually a loophole which means I don't qualify although the social worker marked me as "critical" after the assessment.

Weather is keeping us in today - as Mr SA walks so slowly even a walk around the block with the dog would be very unpleasant. Hopefully the rain will ease off later and we can venture out. Yesterday we had a terrible hailstorm.

Weighed myself yesterday and I've lost 2lb :) must be the extra walking kicking in! Also more good news in the shape of pay rise:) Only works out at about £20 ish a month after tax but a pay rise nonetheless!

Mr T sent me a £15 voucher off my next shop so next week's online order will be coming from there. Going to start online shopping with Morrisons after that as get 10% staff discount with DD working for them. However she still thinks Asda are cheaper.

Got a few bits to do today - would like to sort out all the recipes I've got cut out and shoved in a cupboard plus do a meal plan for next week.

Tuesday I'm off work - hairdressers in the morning then meeting my retired friends for lunch. Mr SA is going to neuro rehab with carer for the day. Wednesday I'm off in the afternoon for the dreaded scan results and Friday is payday at last!

Didn't get a lot done this weekend. Had a walk out yesterday afternoon to local shops (we have a Morrisons Express now - very handy!) with Mr SA and dog. Weather was awful, drizzle and wind so not a pleasant experience. Mr SA has become obsessed with eating sausages and burgers - not exactly a healthy diet for someone recovering from cancer! Made a nut roast for me and ate some last night then froze the rest, also made some roast veg and tomato soup for work lunches. I need to start doing what I used to do pre-Mr SA's illness, and that's to try one new recipe a week. I have loads cut out that I haven't tried yet. Mr SA doesn't eat the same as me, he eats meat and I don't. I like healthy food and as I said above he likes sausages and burgers! Didn't do meal plan yesterday but there's loads of stuff in the freezer now so can live off the proceeds all week.

How about having a go at making your own burgers, you can control exactly what goes into them then and make them healthier. Must be hard doing the cooking when you are vegetarian and he isn't.

Just thought I'd check in and share my good news with you all - Mr SA is still in remission his scan showed no signs of lymphoma. His consultant said he's very happy and to be honest it's a miracle he's still here given the type lymphoma he had, its position and the brain bleed. He also said he can go abroad whenever he wants but probably won't be able to return to roofing.

Had a great day yesterday with friends by the way.

Thank you all for your part in supporting me through what has been the worst year of my life so far. :) Hopefully things are now on the up!
