Yesterday's meeting just underlined the findings of Thursday's meeting which concluded Mr SA can come home but with a carer for at least the first 6 weeks. The social worker is sorting out funding for this. She says "the wheels are in motion". So hopefully it won't take too much longer.

I am taking tomorrow off work and have booked myself a train ticket to Highcross Leicester. Haven't been there since they did it up so looking forward to a wander round the shops. This was very much a spur of the moment decision. Haven't been on a train for a few years either. Only cost me £10 for a return ticket, however, the journey time is only 29 minutes!

Had a fab day at Highcross Leicester. In true MSE style used my My John Lewis free coffee and cake voucher. Is it just me but when you actually have the money to buy something you can't find anything. I've been squirrelling away bits and bobs of spare cash for a day like today and have come home almost empty handed! Really need a new purse and was prepared to spend up to £40-ish for one that fits the bill as I'm very fussy - could I find one - no! At least I got Mr SA's Xmas present and also DS's. I really enjoyed my train ride - felt like a kid going on a school trip. Determined to do this again - I'm going to save up a little "pot" again and repeat the experience in the not too distant future. Would like to go to Highcross again.

Night off from hospital visiting tonight. So glad because my feet are absolutely killing me!

I'm like you I have to find "The" right purse, it can take a few go's until i'm happy, then I have it till it falls apart, same with bags. Can't understand these people who have a bag for every occasion .

    Glad you enjoyed yourself today.x

Thanks all - I found the right purse in the end on good old eBay! Exactly the same as my present one but a different colour! I like a purse with loads of compartments and at least 2 zippy up bits! I'm so fussy it's unreal! I do have a selection of handbags though amber but none of them are ever 100% "right"!

Mr SA is still doing fine and it's payday tomorrow! :j

    Finally payday has arrived.:)

Financial dealings and sorting out has been done and I can declare my card now stands at £2900.00 after paying off another £80 and my VSP has been declared in for this year at £310.69.

So didn't pay off the £250 I hoped for but have paid off £100 this month and the other £150 has had to go towards the washing machine. Plan to pay off another £100 by the end of December and the other £150 to finish paying off my washer.

This year my VSP is for Christmas spending. I'm amazed I've managed to squirrel away so much after the dire financial year I've had due to losing Mr SA's income. What you can do when push comes to shove! Not got many presents to buy just Mr SA's, DD's and DS's (which I've already got) and then Mr SA will need to get me something. But at least the money is there. Any extra food/drink will be bought from Nectar points which I've been saving all year. Last year we bought a small real xmas tree in a pot which went outside after the festivities - it's happily still thriving so will be bringing it back inside for this year. Very MSE - just hope it's not harbouring any insects!

As I enjoyed my shopping day so much (even though I didn't buy much) I've decided to do this more regularly. So in order to fund this I'm bunging the odd £5/£10 when spare into a "shopping fund" and when it hits £100-ish I'll be repeating the experience. Aiming to have a shopping trip maybe 4 times a year.

Taking Mr SA to a Christmas fayre at the hospital tomorrow so that should be nice.
