Hi Dumyat - when he was home for that week in summer the confusion got better once he got back into the home routine so I'm hoping this will be the case. DD doesn't work Thursdays and Fridays and she doesn't start work until 12 so will be there Monday-Wednesday mornings. BIL finishes work just after 1pm and has to pass our house on the way home so he says he'll pop in. I think we should at least give it a try. Whether he'll ever completely recover confusion-wise I really don't know.

Sounds like you have it all covered. Sorry didn't mean to put a downer on it all. Its my pessimistic nature as a nurse..beware the medics etc and the hospital may be just as pessimistic ;)

It's been a quiet few days hence nothing to report on here just been catching up with other people's diaries.

Big meeting at hospital is tomorrow afternoon so hopefully there will be something to report then. Finances-wise a very quiet week before payday type of week (in other words skint!).

You'll have to stay out of the coffee-shops (not a problem for an MSE stalwart, am sure. ;)).

Well - after a 2 hour meeting it was decided that Mr SA can come home with a care package. They say he is a severe risk to himself both physically and mentally. He needs supervision for at least the first 6 weeks out. Will be meeting with the social worker again on Monday. He is allowed out for the day again on Sunday and he wants to see the Christmas paraphernalia in town so I'll take him.

One of my lovely colleagues at work bought me some wine and chocs today to cheer me up. I am so lucky to work with such a fantastic caring bunch of people. I can honestly say they've been wonderful - and I work in a really big office - I would estimate 70 people altogether and they all ask how things are going. Sometimes I spend more time updating people than actually working!

One week to payday so no spare cash this week for extra payment to card or even VSP. Will make amends next Friday!!

  • How do you feel after the meeting? Will you be given enough support for those 6 weeks?

Wishing you all the luck in the world for the new chapter of your adventure.

Lovely to hear you have nice colleagues. It makes all the difference Xx

    Hi SA,

I hope you got the result you wanted from the meeting. If they recognise the risks then presumably they have to put a very comprehensive care package in place?

Have a lovely day on Sunday.

    Thank you all!

Mr SA asked how he was doing lymphoma wise today and his nurse said he would find out from his file. The nurse said looking at the notes he is cured! I hardly dare hope this is the case. The nurse said ask the doctor on Monday when I meet the social worker to confirm. If he is cured then why has no one told us? We were both under the impression that he still had lymphoma. Trying not to get my hopes up just yet. Would hate to be disappointed.

Had a busy day today - cleaning up, Asda delivery, parcel to pick up from depot a couple of miles away (this used to be a 10 minute job in the van now over an hour's walking but at least dog got a good walk) then went into town to get Mr SA a warm hat and gloves for tomorrow. Went to Primark for these - the queues were horrendous!!! Stretching right through the store. Never seen anything like it - ever! Got to the hospital much earlier than usual so was able to be home much earlier. Managed to get a lovely long soak in the bath reading my book - bliss! Feet up on sofa now with glass of wine and cat purring on my knee.
