Just to clarify Mr SA fell over before the real ale! Just read my post back and it sounds like I took him out and got him drunk!

Lucky - I will turn the pasta into something else. It will have to be vegi pasta bake now! I am a "pescatarian" (is that correct spelling?) whereby I don't eat meat but eat fish - as long as it doesn't have bones, skin, head or tail and I would never eat a fish I had seen swimming about first! Cat is now sleeping very happily!

  • I'm vegetarian so veggie bake sounds better to me anyway than tuna bake. Set another place at the table, I'm on my way :D

Sounds like it was a good day but rotten about the falls.

I'm sure you'll do something nice with the pasta and I'm with you on the fish...I want no relationship to it ever having been something prior to dinner. Cop out maybe but absolutely can't do it otherwise.

Condensed mushroom soup, pasta and green beans make a great baked dish:

Cook pasta, meanwhile mix green beans and cms and microwave for 3 mins in oven-proof dish, mix in cooked pasta, sprinkle with a bit of grated cheese and bake for about half an hour.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Thanks Satchmo that sounds really tasty! Ended up with roast veg pasta bake which was very nice and made enough for one portion to go in the freezer for future reference.

Had the day off work yesterday waiting in for British Gas electrical arm to come and mend my broken bathroom light switch. So the hat trick of broken things have all been sorted now. Since Mr SA has been in hospital the things that have broken and been replaced/repaired are: iron, microwave, fridge freezer, boiler, washer, bathroom light and shaver. Now Mr SA's phone has stopped working! It's on a contract so hopefully they'll replace it. He's currently using my old phone - which incidentally was once his old phone! Such an expensive and disasterous year!

Enjoyed my day off though, despite the waiting in, and managed to give my living room and hall a really good clean Fly Lady style and got to the hospital early so managed to fit in a 5k run on the treadmill on my return. So not a wasted day.

Today back at work and trying to fit yesterday and today into one. You should see my inbox!

Hi Buffy - I run on my treadmill which I am led to believe is easier on your knees than on hard pavements. I always do the Motion Traxx Run Walk podcasts as it mixes, say, 1 minute fast walking and 1 minute running and tells you what to do. Makes it much easier. Have been doing this for a few years now on and off.

Downloaded the Davina exercise app but never got round to using it until last night. I really like it - just 20 minutes workout and it counts it down and the exercises keep changing so it's over in what seems like a flash. There are different levels too. I paid an extra 69p to upgrade to the Christmas workout challenge.

Well after all the feeling motivated again with the Fly Lady-ing and exercising, I can't believe today I feel rough, sore throat, aching, headache type thing. Quite miffed about this. Might not be able to hospital visit tonight unless I feel better, but Mr SA's sister will be there so he won't be visitor-less.

Mr SA's ESA went in the bank today so have put the £3 oddment to my VSP and paid £10 off debt so now down to £2980.00 It would be great if I could pay off the £80 oddment by the end of the month so that's my small steps goal. The main thing is to pay for my washer on payday so there won't be much to spare after that.

Thanks beanie - you're a lady of few words but they are always the right ones. I'm sorry to hear from another diary that things aren't great for you at the moment. I really don't think it's fair that some people just seem to sail through life when others have to struggle through no fault of their own.

Didn't go to the hospital again tonight as I still don't feel too well. Mr SA's brother was there tonight so he had a visitor and he really didn't want me spreading germs. There is no way I can go on a transplant ward full of people with no immune systems at the moment.

Mr SA's next move was being decided last night. The rehab unit people were there in a big meeting with his consultant and other ward staff. Not heard anything yet though. This will be the third attempt his consultant has had at getting him rehab.

Good news is he is allowed home for the day on Sunday again. He has put his order in for a roast dinner. Glad he doesn't want to go to the pub again as could do without the expense.

Got my £30 cash back from AOL today so this will go towards paying off the washer which is on my Tesco credit card. Also got just over £6 in vouchers from Asda in their 10% cheaper thing so will use these for this Saturday's delivery.

It was lovely to go straight home from work today (and yesterday) but a bit miffed when I got home to find DD sitting in front of the gas fire (when I have been sitting with a throw over me to save money) with practically every light in the house on, the oven on for ONE slice of garlic bread and the washer on for just a couple of her things!!! Talk about caught in the act! Read her the riot act! Bad news is she is off work next week so dread to think what she'll get up to. GRR!
