Can't find receipt but remember it only had 2 year guarantee and I know I've had it longer. Could get it repaired but no doubt costly and I could get a new one from appliances online for £200 or just over and be sorted on Thursday.

On top of shaver and wm light switch in bathroom is playing up. Mr SA not allowed to use razors due to risk of infection from cut otherwise he'd make do with that.

Latest news on Mr SA is his consultant says he needs residential care. He's still trying for the head injury unit. Mr SA not happy he wants to come home.

Over the last few days I haven't had much motivation/enthusiasm for exercise or cleaning. Couldn't understand why until today when I've started aching all over. Loads of people I know have been full of cold including BIL and DS.

    Halfway through the week already!

Decided to buy new washing machine from Appliances Online. Went through TopCashBack so got £6.74, there was £30 cashback on the washer from AO and paid for it on my Tesco Clubcard Credit Card so have got points too. Don't think I could have done it much more MSE if I tried! Being delivered tomorrow when DD is off work. What is wrong with the old washer is that the computerised bits for the washing programmes has broken (which sounds like it could be an expensive repair) but also there are one or two other things that I think might "go" soon so thought I'd cut my losses and get a new one.

Boots have an extra points day today if you spend £50 you get £12 in points so I'll get Mr SA's shaver today. He is sprouting hairs from his upper lip and chin at an alarming rate after weeks of being as smooth as a baby's bum due thanks to chemo!

As I've had to fork out for the new washer I'm afraid the pay £500 off debt by the end of the year challenge has been kerfuffled to say the least. I will need to put the money back in savings for the washer so I'm just trying to pay off whatever I can. Have made a start on this today as I had £10 left over in my weekly budget and have paid this off my card. And now I can happily say I'm in the two's as my card now stands at £2990.00.:j

    Hello all!

Got mixed up with the Boots points evening - it's next week! Still I got a bargain with the shaver - started off at £89.99, 10% off all electricals, then £55 off - so ended up paying £34.99.

Mr SA still doing well and the good news is he is allowed home just for a few hours on Sunday. He is really excited to say the least. I felt rotten tonight as I had been really busy at work and would have loved to have gone straight home and was begrudgingly going to the hospital, trudging through the rain and travelling on a very busy crammed bus, so wasn't in the best frame of mind when I arrived at the hospital. Then Mr SA presented me with a thank you card saying thanks for supporting him over the last few months. Oops!

He has got the most wonderful nurse looking after him at the moment and she has been doing overtime to look after him and has been taking him all over in a wheelchair. She's only a young girl and is so caring. To be honest the ward he's on now have been a real credit to the NHS.

And last but not least I am to be a grandma!!!!!!! DS announced tonight his GF is expecting next summer. Now I feel really old!

  • Congratulations Grandma :j:j. Exciting news!

Lovely that Mr SA got you a card. You soooooo deserve it. And you deserve to feel grudgingly about the trek to the hospital so don't feel bad about that.

Good bargain with the razor and lovely to hear about Mr SA's nurse. Lots of positives :T Xx

Not sure I feel ready to be a granny!! Can't get my head round it. Bound to happen at some stage though. After all DS is 29 next month. This is what happens when you have children young!
