I know I dont know you, I know I dont say much, But please know that I totally understand what youre going through, and you have my admiration for staying so strong in the face of inconsiderate SIL .. You dont think what youre doing is amazing, You think youre doing what has to be done, But I think youre doing darn well, and Im glad you have so many good friends on here to support you when the going gets tough.
Keep Smiling SA, If nothing else, It makes people wonder what youve been up to . :D
    Best Regards x

Thank you Mara - I know I'm not the first nor unfortunately the last to be going through this.

You don't know how wonderful it was to be home before 5pm today. I took dog on park, did another session of 30 Day Shred, cleaned up, ironed and had a lovely soak in the bath - all by 7pm! Bliss!

Now relaxing with a glass of wine.

Have got 3 missed calls and a voicemail off SIL. Was going to ring back but have decided not to bother. I just can't be doing with the stress to be honest. I've nothing to say to her.

Mr SA was fine today. When I got there he had gone for X-ray on bowel as (too much information alert) they hadn't been open for 2 days. Why are hospitals so obsessed with this? Luckily he came back before I left but he was adamant they had brought him back to the wrong room!

Tomorrow I will be leaving work early again as work mate is retiring and she's having a "do". I've sat next to her for the past 13 years and I'll miss her. It will be so weird without her and she has been a great support to me recently. However we will be meeting up from time to time. Warned Mr SA I'll be visiting tomorrow stinking of booze and will make no apologies!

Lucky I listened to it - she was just asking about Mr SA's rehab - of which there is no news - so nothing to tell her! She sounded a bit tearful which made me feel guilty for not replying but when I thought back to how I felt after her call on Sunday I thought "let her stew". Sorry if I sound petty but she did ask me not to phone her unless there was positive news. I hate being like this but I was crying my eyes out Sunday night because of what she said. I have come to realise that my work mates and my MSE friends are the most supportive of all.

Have a great time tomorrow...time to relax a little.

You're not being selfish. You do the lion's share of it all and SIL has abdicated from everything bar the good news. That's not too supportive.

Hope Mr SA continues to improve.

  • Enjoy a few drinks this afternoon SA!! I dont blame you for ignoring SIL, it was really out of order her being like that with you on Sunday.

    Enjoy yourself SA..and that's an order! :D

Ignore SIL and let her stew. That type of selfishness makes me hopping mad. She needs to know that she has to eat some humble pie before she can move on. Concentrate on you keeping well and OH getting better! :)

Keep posting my lovely. We are all here for you x
