I hardly dare hope this is the case. The nurse said ask the doctor on Monday when I meet the social worker to confirm. If he is cured then why has no one told us? We were both under the impression that he still had lymphoma. Trying not to get my hopes up just yet. Would hate to be disappointed.
Hello Sun.A, :hello:
Just catching up - momentous news!
All digits crossed the doctor confirms it on Monday, and hope you and MrSA are enjoying the festive displays in town today.0 -
Unfortunately Mr SA unable to go to town today as he was very badly behaved in the night behaving aggressively and not sleeping. The nursing staff had all on with him. He left me 17 distressing voice mail messages in the early hours. When I went to pick him up he was fast asleep and had been sick so the doctor said I could take him home but no public places. He was disappointed and I had to be firm with him as he was becoming argumentative. This is the brain damage causing this - a result of the bleed, the lymphoma and the heavy duty chemo. They can't say for sure if he'll make a full recovery from this. I'm sure once he gets back in his home environment he'll become more stable - once he settled down at home he was fine apart from a couple of falls - once when the dog knocked him over and then when he tried to bend down to pick something up. He's managing to get up with a little help much better than he used to though. Right now he's back safely installed in his hospital room and I'm going to have a long soak in the bath. What a day!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I'm sure being home will help him and it will be more positive. I'm afraid you will be in for a bumpy ride but it will be worth it. Big hugs Hun, remember we are here for you. XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Guess you've shrunk the t shirt on the coping with brain injuries Lucky! At least I have a rough idea of what to expect from your diary.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Forgot to add -I've made a start on the Christmas shopping. Got a 100ml bottle of CK Euphoria for DD from an eBay shop last night. £31.99 - thought that was a good price. No point getting her one of those perfume gift sets as she doesn't use body lotion.
Also DS's gf goes for her first scan in the week so she'll find out when the baby's due. Might actually get to meet her at some stage!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be excellent news regarding OH's cancer, still quite a way to go to hopefully leading a "normal life" but hopefully heading in the right direction.
I hope that when OH finally comes home from the hospital you will both soon have some normality in your lives again.

Thank you all for your enouragement - very much appreciated.
Have had to have a rethink about finances this month and next. Was hoping to pay off the £300 for my washer from this month's wages but I think this will leave me too short so I've decided to pay £150 this month and the other £150 I will lend myself out of savings and pay back with December's pay. Also will have to downsize my card payments for two months. Once Mr SA is home I won't have as much spare cash to play around with as I'll be spending more on food and he'll no doubt want a few beers and the odd trip out. I've told him we won't be able to afford to do as much as we used to when he was working and I think he understands. I think probably the best thing to do is whatever is left over after I've paid everything out is split it into 4 and that's what we've got to spend each week. One thing I hate is when I go mad on payday buying bits and bobs and then spend the rest of the month waiting for the next payday! Guess I'm not alone in that though!
Mr SA has seen his psychologist this morning and she's going to look at his medication to see if it's right. This afternoon it's the meeting with the social worker.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
