Good news at last from the doctor - Mr SA is in remission and here are the magic words "no evidence of disease". Can't tell you how relieved I am. Would insert the jumping up and down emoticon here but iPad doesn't do that sort if thing.

Meeting with social worker went really well and his discharge is being fast tracked. Looks like we will get a personal budget for care package. They asked if I knew of anyone who would take on the caring and as luck would have it someone I work with has a partner newly qualified as a carer who is Mr SA's age. They said to see if he's interested. Although there is no firm date for discharge they are aiming for at least a week before Christmas.

    Finally things are looking up!

    Utterly FANTASTIC NEWS!

What a relief! Fingers crossed about the carer. But how wonderful, home for Xmas and no more trudging to the hospital.

Many many thanks to you all. You have all been a fantastic support these past few months. I can't tell you what a relief it was to hear the good news. It's been a long haul that's for sure!

I'm off to Homebase today to look for a reasonably priced Christmas tree - one small enough to get on the bus!

Hello maddie - nice of you to de-lurk!

I just hope someone out there going through a similar experience reads my diary and is encouraged by Mr SA's story. Back in the summer there was a time when it didn't look very hopeful for him when the tumour grew despite the chemo - well he's proved them wrong - for the time being at least!
