Thankyou to everyone that replied, it is the mediterrian(sp) roasted veg one. i have it with 3 chicken wings aswell. Got my weigh in tonight so hopefully it will be ok. Ive been counting the mix with veg as just 3 points on the green so having the veg free then counting the spoon of oil and the chick seperatly.

Lois lane I am not following any plan for weight loss except healthy eating and more exercise because I live in a remote area without any weight loss schemes nearby. We are also on a very tight budget so I have meal plans for whole family for June and we have most of our own salad veg growing in garden. I am also cooking in bulk and freezing so on days when rest of family have a higher fat meal I can just take something tasty out of freezer for me. We don't use any pre made ingredients except bread and cereals, tinned tomatoes and baked beans and sometimes biscuits for hungry teenagers.
petrichoralthough I have meals planned for the month and if weather changes or we get unexpected guests I can swap meals around. I make sure I have all ingredients for all meals and then just have to buy or pick vegetables and fruit. Meat comes from the butcher every two months so it is in the freezer and can be used any time. Fish can be a problem but if I can get into town I buy from fishmonger and usually freeze on day its bought or use it straight away. The only problem I have had was last month I bought really good butchers sausages for a sausage casserole and DH made sausage sandwiches for everyone for Saturday lunch. They were enjoyed by all and he didn't understand why I was annoyed.:rotfl:business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hope we are all doing ok, Had a nightmare with my sons payg mobile and suddenly getting spam text @£1.50 a pop
Jojilufc, it never ceases to amaze me how rude people can be, take victory’s mother for example! I think your DH was right though, pure jealously.
As a contrast I bumped into my physio on Saturday in Tesco of all places and the look of shock on his face was a picture He hadn’t seen me since Feb this year, when he gave my knee the once over. He couldnt believe how much I lost, made me feel good
Anyways back to this week, as I am out and about Tues Coventry, Weds Manchester, so decided to weigh this morning Weighed myself on Mrs Suggs scales and then went to Boots and hoped they were accurate, repaired and moved. Well they havent moved Back to the weigh in, I Have lost the 1lb

This is the first time I have made my weight publicy known in this forum or generally, my mother doesnt know my weight, she'll be in for a shock as she thinks I look 16stone :rotfl:

Victory - major retailers often reject clothes because they haven't been made to the right size, so it's always a risk buying these factory seconds at boot sales or on ebay. Do you make a profit from them on ebay?
QUOTE]
Last week I bought two bags full for £15 and sold one skirt on it's own as it was too large for £10.50 so yes and no, yes profit as in the rest of the bag worth of clothes cost me £4.50 in total having sold the white one on ebay and no because the damn things are so badly sized I go for my size and have to go through the whole process of uploading it on ebay and the disappointment of thinking I have new clothes to look forward to wearing only to have it dashed:D
Jo people are unbelievable:eek: look in the mirror yourself and see that you are a size 10 and richly deserve to be, you have done so very well and I personally would kill to be a size 10, it is not going to happen to me but I admire you and your determination to shift 2 stone whether that so called friend can see it or not, you know your dress size has gone down, you know you have lost it and feel better and look better for it, try not to give her another thought, these people deserve as been mentioned before to be shot:rotfl: :rotfl:
petrichor well done for getting into your summer frock:T and well done for loosing, if this carries on you will be beating me to it:D you rant away girl, DHL
I live off lists, I make lists to go on holiday (like there are no shops there!!) lists for menus for the week and only buy that, lists for birthdays, lists all the way I am!! so I find it easy to get what the list says from the supermarket or the best one is to send my teenage son as he hates shopping and gets exactly what it says on the list and no more than that ever!! I look in SW and WW mags and they have on the side the shopping list so just take that with you and only buy that or do internet shopping, once you get into the habit of lists there is no going back, you can't do anything without one and wow betide if you go shopping without one you just walk around clueless!!!
My weigh in is tomrrow, here I am again thought I would be back at work today but no, teacher training day is 10 days half term not enough for these teachers?:rotfl:
Welcome to all the newbies:D I hope you find it full of support and fun here as it always is...
suggs I am truly delighted for you and you deserve the praise, every last drop of it, absolutely fabulous results and I hope you manage to loose the rest you want to do before your hol, I know you can, I empathise with the tears, it really is a journey but hey we are all getting there, let's shift this weight and shout it from the roof tops!!!0 -
I have been doing this weight loss lark for nearly 6 months now so here are some tips for the newbies and oldies:D that I have found help/work for me and maybe could do the same for yourselves...
1.Make a weekly menu plan and shop only for that, it helps by taking out the guesswork of what you are going to eat, keeps you out of the kitchen, stops you from thinking about food as you know what you are going to eat.
2. Empty all your cupboard of the high calorie, high sugar, processed foods and always cook from scratch if possible as you know there is less sugar/salt/calories/additives in them.
3. If hunger takes over have a hot lemon and wait 20 mins to see if it passes, go and do something else, paint your nails, do your hair, talk to someone on the phone, go for a walk, play with the kids etc.
4. If you are finding it hard, use little steps, if hunger sets in around 3 for eg go for cucumber slices, pepper slices etc to tide you over, have a time to eat and look at the clock, talk to yourself that you only have to wait until 5pm for eg for your dinner and anyone can do that...
5. Up the exercise, keep active, take the mind off food all the time. Gym is not my thing but I walk everywhere , all the time all day long and that counts as exercise, it does not have to be expensive or time consuming, go cycling with the kids, walk at weekends around a park, go up the stairs over and over, swim with the kids, anything that you enjoy, not enjoying it will make you not want to do it and resent it.
6. If you have a lot to loose don't think like that, think you only have 2 lb to loose and the scales next week will have taken that off and then another 2 lb and so on. Stop the excuses, mine were being diabetic(I need the carbohydrates yes but not that much!!) or say that the kids need this and that, or H won't eat what I eat(there is no need to make seperate meals, that makes it harder on you, takes longer in the kitchen, there are so many recipe books/websites full of low fat/low sugar/low calorie yummy foods there is no need to cook more than one meal for all of you) they don't they will benefit from the new lovely low calorie, low sugar foods as much as you will...
7. Find a food you like, look forward to it. Don't bother forcing yourself to eat foods that you do not like, it will counter act itself and make it harder for you. Have ready cut up nibbles in the fridge or sugar free jelly to have, crackers, anything that you like that is quick easy to get at, low in calories, tasty and you know will take the edge of the hunger....
8. Change all the high calorie for low fat alternatives, there are millions on the market and you can save loads of calories that way without really noticing, every single one of your high calorie favourites, can't live without foods can be replaced by cooking them in fry light, using low calorie alternatives that will make you slimmer and not make you feel deprived...
9. If mid week you get despondant just think of your weigh in day and talk yourself (again!) into carrying on as it is only 3 days more to go and anyone can do it....
10. Put your weigh in slip above your oven as I do and write a food diary, keep your measurements to hand and look at them for reassurance that you are getting there and the weight is coming off...
11. Read book about weight loss or T.V progs or SW or WW mags for help/support/inspiration, if they can do it so can you...
12. Put up photos of you all around the house, in the kitchen, on the mirror, everywhere so you can see what you looked like and how you can get back to that with a little determination, patience and motivation.
13. Be patient, it took a long time to put the weight on so it is not going to come off in 2 weeks!!!
14. If you have to attend a buffet/dinner/drinks out, eat before you go fill up so you won't be tempted to nibble, do not stand by the buffet and drink low calorie drinks (say you are driving) you can still have a great time and no one will notice you have not got a huge plate of buffet food as they will be busy chatting etc...
15. You don't have to eat and drink to feel part of it, just think how proud you will be of yourself if you don't and how much more it will help you reach your goal...
16. Look at clothes/swimming costumes/lovely lingerie etc and dream about wearing them in a smaller size and envisage how fab you are going to look/feel when you can drop a dress size...
17. You know you can do it, you like me have probably done it many times before and achieved it so this time it might be harder but you can do it and do not let anyone say you can't...
18. Get a support network going and praise yourself when you loose, feel proud of your achievements, you know you are doing it for you, for your health, for your self confidence, whatever the reason it is worthwhile and will make you feel better.
19. There will be temptation, tears, tantrums, why me? bad days, giving up days, I can't be bothered days, this is too much days, hard days, hungry days, no one said it would be easy but every step you take in the right direction is worth it...ten fold for every aspect of your life.
20. It has to be a life change, it cannot be that you loose the weight and you go bad to your large portions, old habits as it will all go back on, think of what you want more, the new slim you or that choc bar and there is no contest!!
I hope that helps someone:D I have learnt a lot, not least I ate far too much and did not need as much as I had, it was quite heavily down to habit, habits can be broken, foods can be given up and replaced with healthier ones, habits are what we have made ourselves and it is up to us to break them and move on to better ones.....0 -
Hi all
haven't been on for a couple of weeks - not sure why although the official reason is that I have been *very* busy. Anyway, its June now and I need to get my nose down to the dieting grindstone. I've signed up to e-diets for some tailormade plans, and I have set myself a target of a stone by August. I am up 2llbs (sadly), so this week I'm aiming for a loss of 4 lbs. Fingers crossed!
Oh I meant to say - my daily calorie allowance on e-diets is 2000 a day for slow weight loss. This seems very high to me!BCSC Member 70:j

You are truly wonderful. I really can't find the words to say the admiration I have for you. You are an inspiration to all of us and I wish you all the luck and good wishes in the world!
MarionWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -
Suggs well done you are an inspiration to us all Keep going you will soon be down to what you want to be.:j
NekoZombie I agree 2000 does seem high but it all depends on your weight, height and how much exercise you do as well as how much you have to lose. I check mine on a web site I found on here
http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm ( I hope that's how you do a link I am new to this)
I hope this helps.

YES YOU WILL BE SLIM:j :j :j :j
I must be mellowing in my old age!! I have agreed to go out to the harvester for fathers day (with H and kids, mine is deceased) but not to the cocktail party tomorrow, H going alone again!! I used the old excuse of the kids, what it really is the getting ready, dressed, being in a room full of strangers but H knows me and pushing me into it will not work so he can sip his cocktails alone!!!0 -

Neko, it would seem that e-diet are working out the Resting Metabolic Rate, which is the calories burnt if you just laid there and did nothing all day, thats whats my dietician said when she worked mine out to be 3,500  Anyway I guess they are taking a figure probably 10-20% lower than that for slow weight loss.
Found a good explanation of this here, Hope it helps mine worked out at 2,187 upto 4,155 depending on the level of exercise, currently Im in the gym 5-6 times a week
