Morning all
I'm at a bit of a loose end this morning - DH is still snoozing, which is very unusual for him, and I've been wide awake since the early hours! So far, I've finished a book I was reading, sorted the washing, completed a sudoku, had breakfast, and I'm still in my pjs - I want to wash my hair but I know he'll wake up so I'm leaving him to sleep, he obviously needs it! aaahhhh....
I've been using the Calorie-Count website that Erlqueen recommended, and it's very good. I found it a bit time consuming to start with, but now I've tagged the foods I eat on a regular basis, it's so much quicker. I like the analysis too - it shows you a summary of calories eaten etc, with a grade for nutrition (I'm pleased to say I've got straight A's!). Thanks for letting us know about it Erlqueen.
If anyone is interested there's a link in the opening post. To use the analysis and tagging tools you need to register, but it's completely free, and I haven't been bombarded with junk mail from them yet!
Hi Quillion and Poohbear - welcome to the thread.
Have a good day everyone. I hope the weather is better where you are - it's pouring down here.

Hi, please could I join you. I started a diet about 1 month ago and managed to lose 7lbs but I have about another 2 stone to lose and I seem to have lost all motivaton. I think I have probably put back on some of the weight I have lost but I haven't weighed myself cos i am going to be so cross with myself for undoing my good work. Anyway i figured if I have to report my losses that should keep me on track. I'm doing it on my own. Basically following a low fat diet and cutting out the rubbish. I think I need to exercise more and really need to make more of an effort with this. Is there a set weigh in day or do you all weigh on different days?0

Hi mistywoo, poohbear and Quillion
We are all following different plans, some on SW, some on WW, others like you doing it alone. Lois does the chart on Wednesdays but if you weigh on a different day she will add it to the following week.
Everyone on here is very friendly and if you go to post one you will find lots of great recipes, low in fat but high in taste:D
Weather here rubbish today, still in jammies but must make effort to get dressed:o Got to put in lots of practice for my spreadsheet exam coming upCant do it, hate it and what the F**p is absolute:mad:

Thanks for the welcome from everyone. Beanielou I am disabled too so maybe I can pinch some of your ideas to help lose weight. I am trying not to think of it as a diet, more healthy eating which is what we all ate here until I became disabled. I am working up to preparing in bulk, healthy meals and then freezing them to make cooking easier. Obviously I will do the bulk cooking when the family are at home to help in preparation. I haven't dared think about how much I need to lose.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hello everyone! Wow when I went home after my last exam we were on page 12, just had to catch up 7 pages worth!!
Welcome all newbies, and well done all losers and maintainers. I'm sorry i havent named you all individually but there was just so much to catch up with!!
I've had a lovely time at home, but the calorie counting went out the window a bit (posh sunday lunch with massive dessert, dinner in a london restaurant, and a huge curry!!) and dont get me started on alcohol  it's my downfall! Had a few good nights out, including last night which was our end of term ball. But did lots of dancing so hopefully that burned off a few alcohol calories! hungover today so a cottage pie ready meal for lunch  but it was a low cal/low fat one, and was not a greasy fry up like usual, so i'm not too disappointed in myself.
Back on my best behaviour now though, making vege/3 bean chilli for dinner, and am planning on a game of squash tomorrow. also got loads of sorting out to do (winter/summer clothes, clearing out my room ready to move back home this summer) so hopefully that'll keep me busy (and out of the kitchen!)
Hope everyone's feeling good, and having a lovely sunday.
Feels good to be back, missed this thread while i was away, and my blowout this week just showed me how much of a help you all are in motivating me and keeping me on track!

Hi all and welcome to the newbies:D
Haven't got much time but weighed in a day early and have lost 1.5 lb so achieved my May 31st target with a few days to spare and the docs will be chuffed,(yes my work colleague was wrong that said it would take 2 months to shift the last 7 lb it is done and dusted with days to spare!!) proved to myself I could do it and am now 50 lb lighter or 3 stone 10 lbs or 25 Kilos, anyway short version of the story is I am going for another 7 lb because not happy with stomach, went to see my sis and have a phone call from my mum both saying how fantastic I look and keep it up etc but it has to come from within and I still have a fat gut simple as so 7 lb more....

Hi All
First of all a bigto the lovely newcomers...
...poohbear59 I would have thought your GP would have been more helpful, as if you didn't have enough to contend with, but you seem to have the right attitude so you just show him/her how to do it :T Let us know how you get on with the bulk prep and freezing, I've been here since January and can't remember anyone doing that so I think you'll be able to teach us a thing or two, very MSE too  ...
...Quillion A loss of 10 kg is great stuff :j I was pleased to read about your 'stepping' - I bought a mini-stepper a few months back to use at home, and like you, the first time nearly killed me. It took me a few days to build up to beginner levelbut I'm impressed with the 86 calories that you burnt in 3 mins, it's made me realise that I need to increase the resistance on mine (I'm too ashamed to tell you that I do 150 cals in 20 mins - no wonder I get bored
). I hadn't given it much thought until I read your post so when I'm finshed here I'm going to sort it out. Thanks :T ...
...mistywoo The sooner you weigh yourself the sooner you'll get back on track. I'm doing it on my own and find that this thread has helped me more than anything as the support is always at you fingertips.
Hard luck Jo with the gain, I must admit that things seemed stacked against you, but it'll soon come back off and good luck with the exam
Hi WorkingHard Pop in as often as you want, but why not stay with us for extra support between classes. Thw WW website will give you all the 'technical' stuff, but like all the slimming plans it's just a matter of common sense, so you should be OK for your Tuesday weigh in
VictoryYou are the first one to actually reach your target since I've been here. I know you've just said that you've decided to go for another 7 lbs but the congrats is still in order  YOU ROCK - BIG TIME!!!...
...I'm going to get my stepper out now, but if, in the morning, I have another week like last, the toys are going out my pram. I don't know if it's because of the dreadful weather today, but I feel fat and heavy. Why can't I be like Victory...
Goodnight All :coffee:
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Hello all!
Just found you all on the forums and am thrilled to find others in the same boat as me!
Let me tell you more....I have been on a "lifestyle" change - lets not call it a diet - for about three months now and have lost one and a half stone so I am thrilled. However, i do find myself slipping slightly so I hope you can all inspire me again.
I have increased my exercise - changed jobs - walk the dog miles and bought a wonderful book called The Calorie Carb and Fat Bible which has been a great help.
To be honest i really need to lose another stone at least and need to keep the momentum up or else i will run the risk of slipping into my old ways of nibbling again.
I do hope you are all doing well and any recommendations to inspire me more are most welcome!0
