I am in awe not-tagged-smiley-15649.gif and I must say that they bear an uncanny likeness :rotfl: .

I've been trying not to use too many smilies this week to prove that I can be serious, but you've broken my resolve so I'm going to browse those sites... and I may be gone for some time (did I hear a cheer :rotfl: )

    xxxx

ps I've had a lovely email from a very nice man - Jason - about the cross trainer. It's all the fault of DHL and Jason is sorting it all out for me (I wonder how old he is :D ). I'll keep you all informed as I'm sure you'll all be gagging to know :rotfl:

Where is everybody? I may start to get a bit paranoid soon
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

    Hi sooz and cmudlem.bmp

It's like waiting for a bus, you wait ages and then two come along together :rotfl: I couldn't believe it when I read your post and that like peanutpie you too had lost weight during pregnancy :T

    ...just what i was thinking:rotfl:

sooz ... I too had v.bad sickness (hyperemisis at one point .... couldn't keep food or liquid down  ) All through my pg I couldn't eat fatty or sugary foods because it made me ill ...so I had a super healthy diet.

I, too, went out and bought some lovely new 'slim' jeans and now I can't wear them:mad:

The people on here are lovely and I'm sure we will all succeed with each others support:j

...I notice that daysieblue hasn't reported with the update on her procedure I hope everything's OK and that thenottaggedsmiley16309xl9.gif has subsided :rotfl: ...

    Hi all

Sorry for not reporting back sooner, been a bit hectic! We're dog sitting this weekend, and have been a bit pre-occupied with two 7 month old collie/springer crosses! Along with the children, that's quite a handful!

Well, the "procedure" () went well, was some latent windiness afterwards, but it felt like it had done all it could do! When I weighed myself Thursday though, I had only lost 1 lb!!! Still, it's better than nothing. Not sure it's kick started my system the way I was kind of hoping it would, and it looks like I'm going to have to go back to the regimented hot lemon in the morning before ANYTHING else (Gillian McKeith may not be a doctor, but some of what she says makes sense!)

Speaking of which, has anybody ever tried her diet? I did it for a couple of weeks about a year ago, and it defeated almost all of my personal objectives. It was SOOO expensive (the week I did it half of our food bill was for my food!) It took so long to cook everything, I would be cooking from gettingin at 6 to eating at 8.30 ish, and I didn't lose any weight! She's far too diet police for me! I agree with practically everything she says about cut out the fats, sugars etc, exercise more, blah blah blah, but I don't agree with her approach and attitude to her "victims" at all :)

Anyway, after spouting for a bit, I would just like to say congratulations to everyone for their loses! I'm sorry that I haven't really got to learn who is who yet, but that will come in time :)

    Evening all

Daiseyblue - rather you than me with the 'procedure'... :o I used to watched You Are What You Eat, and I could see how much her victims needed guidance in healthy eating, but I agree with you that her methods are over the top. People overeat for lots of reasons, some of them psychological, and the last thing they need is to listen to her 'home truths'.

Petrichor - I lost weight during my first pregnancy too! I made the other mums in the maternity ward quite jealous by leaving the hospital wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans, and they were loose on me. There was hardly anything I could eat, I went right off chocolate, and smells like perfume, onions and fried food made me vomit!

Thanks for the ticking off about not weighing mid-week :D - I know, I know!

Malima - well done for your weight loss. :T

Have a great weekend all :D

Welcome Sylvester . I'm quite sure that you are not in the least bit ugly, when we are depressed about our weight we tend to put ourselves down. You are making the first positive step by admitting that you want to lose some weight and doing something about it. I'm sure your partner will be 110% behind you if you tell her you are trying to cut down. Maybe you could do some exercise together (;)) - go out walking in the evenings, out on bikes etc (or some scrabble /ludo as its called on here :rotfl: )Get rid of all the biscuits from your house, they are temptation for you. If they arent there you cant eat them. Why not snack on some raw veg -carrot batons, slices of peppers. A low fat favourite on here at the minute is sugar free jelly. Low fat yogurts are also good. Good luck with it, keep posting and we'll have you on the straight and narrow in no time.

    Hi honey28

I do tend to walk alot anyway, I just don't do much else exercise wise.

My partner and I do tend to walk and I know she'll back me, but she knows I'm a pie and chips man!

I have biscuits but what if I ate crackers with my tea (Fruit tea, I can't drink normal tea)? I've started doing that and in all honesty, it tastes alright.

Crackers can't be too bad can they? (Plain, no butter or anything)

I have some raw carrots, I hope they will stop me eating crisps/cakes/chocolate!

I resisted buying some crisps tonight and resisted the chip shop, but that's because chip shop makes me very ill even though I like the taste!

You have a partner so you can't be ugly, so try and dispel those thoughts now; but believe me we all feel that way at times, despite what our loved ones tell us. As honey has just said try and get MsS to help you and come up with some low cal meals that incorporate those things that you do like. I like to make lo-cal curries and anything with a load of taste so that I know that I've eaten it. Try not to get frustrated either, it will come off in time, although at first it seems insurmountable.

On here we have our very own Suggs who will be able to give you a man's view on this, he is a huge source of inspiration and he'll be along shortly.

Your doctor doesn't seem very supportive, I think that's quite wrong.

Whatever you do, stay with us and between us, we'll crack it :j

    Hi petrichor

Well, even less than average people have partners I guess

Some women have liked me, but I never believe it. I still have no idea why my partner likes me, it's not like i'm a moneybags either

We do eat some low calorie/carb/fat meals, most infact. It's the snacking that does me.

I don't feel satisfied as I can't eat so many things or very little of some things.

My whole Doctor surgery don't take me seriously. They tell me I know what a good diet is and won't even look at why my body rejects so many things.

Phew.... just spent a long time catching up on the posts as I haven't been online for over a week - combination of new man and hectic time at work means I seem to have lost time to do 'normal' things like browse MSE!

Anyway, as always the posts are inspirational and I am in awe of those of you who keep on losing the weight and put my efforts to shame. I maintained last week (but keep telling myself I am still a stone less than I was at the beginning of the year) but obviously the benefits of the 'ludo and scrabble' are being outweighed by the increased intake of food and wine (and the odd vodka or two as well).

I have managed to get to the gym a few times as my daughter is in the middle of her AS levels and likes to go as a bit of a break from her revising, and as I'm not around as much at the moment I have offered to take her which means I get to go as well.

I am very aware that I need to get my act together both organising my home life and with my eating and drinking. I think probably the latter is probably more of a problem than the former - after a couple of glasses of wine any good intentions about healthy eating seem to go flying out of the window. I am also tired ;) so have been grabbing snack food, which then makes me feel sluggish and yuck so it's a vicious circle. Please can I have some of your willpower Suggs and Victory?

I really like the new man and am still in the starry eyed stage so hopefully things will settle down a bit as life seems a bit of a blur at the moment, but in any case decided that after this holiday weekend will bite the bullet and make a concerted effort to try and balance the new relationship with a healthy eating regime. On half term this week (am a teacher) so hopefully that will make it easier to get back on track. Don't want to put on weight again when I am feeling so good.

Anyway, am going over to his later and coming back Monday evening or Tuesday morning, day one starts Tuesday, and that's a promise (to myself and all of you on here) - may need another kick up the wotsit though. :D

May not have been the star loser on here (far from it  ) but this site so helps keep me a bit on track, which has to be better than just binning the diet altogether.

PS Although I maintained last week, my weight loss for the May challenge should be 3.5 lbs not 1.5 lbs so can you alter next time you update the chart please - every little helps :o Total weight loss is correct.

Won't be weighing in Monday but will try and do so Tuesday and post again then.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
