(hope I'm not hi-jacking the thread and apologies if I am posting in the wrong place)
I can't rememeber having sweet craving while breastfeeding but I weighed 13st then and thats the heaviest I have been, so must of been eating plenty. Can you have a word with your healthvisitor maybe they could advise you.
You're not hi-jacking the thread, this is what it is for to ask advice and give support0 -
hi all, thanks to suggs i have been offered a cross trainer, just have to figure out how to get it from my mates house! I mentioned to my freind that i had heard that the cross trainer bike is good and she said she had one she never uses and that i am welcome to it, so watch this space, this week i am fed up i cant get back into the diet at all.
i did the race for life sun and felt so good, but then went to weigh in class and had gained a lb, so all the rubbish that i had eaten in euro disney caught up with me, at the beginning of the diet i did so well and lost 1.5 st but now am losing the will to diet, and cant seem to get back on track.
yest i did well i had weetabix for breakfast, lunch was veg and mashed pots and yogurt, afternoon snack a special k bar, but then tea time i had a pastie and beans and two pieces of bread! and then freinds came round so i ended up drinking whisky with them so 400 calories extra!!!
what is wrong with me?? i know I have a goal in mind and that i need to get back on track but i cant seem to do it! any advice please. i am seriously thinking of gastro banding or having jaws wired up at this rate!:A :j0 -
Hello Lovely Peeps
My trainer thingy has not yet arrived so needless to say  email has been sent.I'm pleased to report a 1lb loss this week. I'm slightly disapointed that it's only 1lb as I made the mistake  of weighing myself on Monday and I'd lost 2lbs then, but don't worry, I'm not downhearted - just all the more determined to lose 2lbs next week so that I hit the May target. LL
Well done Lois :T on losing 1lb, I knew there was another that I wanted to mention yesterday but also would anyone care to jog my memory as to who it is that keeps telling us NOT TO WEIGH BETWEEN WEIGH INS
Hi peanutpie It was nice to read about someone who managed to lose, not gain, weight during pregnancy :T I find that if I have a craving for something I first try and ignore it and think about what 'damage' it will do to me; so whenever you want that totally unecessary chocolate go and try to fit yourself into those size 10 jeans and remember just how pleased with yourself you were when they fitted!! I also keep myself occupied with anything that doesn't involve food, walk with your little girls etc. Eat fruit or sugarfree jellies etc to let yourself still have healthy sweetness. Do you want to be a fat mum? Of course not! It's all in your hands so Good Luck! and please let us know how you get on.

Hello everyone, I just found this thread and think its great, so would like to join in.
I have no idea how much weight I have to lose, as I am terrified to get on the scales. I was overweight all my childhood, but manage to lose around five stone about five years ago, I became a gym bunny indeed, but ive gone back to uni for a pg degree and that has been the end of it :-(
On the plus side though, I found the man of my dreams and recently married him, however the relationship only added to my change of habits (you know, rather spend time together than going to the gym, enjoying meals together and that). My diet is not that bad, we're vegetarians and cook from scratch using fresh stuff, but quite frankly its nothing compared to the ultra clean diet i had when going to the gym (boiled veggies+tuna in water, the occasional piece of fruit and that was that!).
I guess my genetics only allow me to be thin with a strict diet and a 3 hour a day gym routine, as nothing else has made me go back to my "slim" weight. And trust me, I tried before the wedding, but I still look very overweight in the pictures, and that is adding to my low mood at the moment... I just never thought I would regain the weight that took me so long to lose! And as it is now, I just dont see how can that lifestyle fit into my current one, if you know what I mean?
Sorry about the rant, I've been very upset since I saw the pictures of my wedding, I didnt want to be a fat bride!
Anyway, if anyone has any bit of advice, I would truly appreciate it, and I hope to be able to face the scales again!
Thanks!
Hi mapcr77
(This was supposed to be part of my last post, don't know what happenedbut it all disappeared, typical.)
I was really moved by your story, because like so many of us you will forever struggle to keep your weight down; so the most important thing is to accept that it is a fact of your life and that you will live with it. Go and get on those scales now because to delay further will mean further weight gain. Sadly, you cannot alter those wedding photos :grouphug: but you can use them to inspire a new you.
You obviously know about healthy eating and exercise, but this time try to find a happy medium. To me you seemed over strict with yourself before, but if it worked all well and good, but it must have taken a will of iron. Keep in mind how different you looked when you lost all that weight, and how good you felt. Don't be in too much of a hurry to lose this weight and only think in the short term; the time will soon fly and before you realise it, a sliimer you will be reflected in your mirror.
However!!!! until you get on those scales and face the grim truth (we've all been there:o )...it's the biggest step... We look forward to hearing more from you :jHi, I would like to join this thread. I am getting married in January 2008 and decided that i didnt want to be a fat bride!
I have joined WW in december and I am following their points plan
I have gone from 15 stone3 to 12 stone 10.
I feel that I am starting to lose inspiration and motivation
mrsctobe Hi, you are doing so well, please don't undo all that hard work. You only have to look at the post from mapcr to see how sorry she feels about her wedding photos. We all wilt after a while, but believe me you will be glad that you stuck to it.
At the start of this thread here there some great links that will help motivate you both, give them a try and keep reading the thread, most people don't waffle on as much as I do so don't be put off
I don't mean to be lecturing, but while I'm here I'm not eating so it helps me too! Thanks

Oh, can someone tell me if ALL spices are free? I bought a packet of "east end, real curry magic", its just spices in it to make a curry, but its not on the syns online.TIA0 -
Hi everyone...
Petrichor ... thanks so much for your words of support.
I had looked at joining some sort of club .. because I don't have anyone to support me in my quest to lose weight... but you lot are so nice and helpful ... I'm now hopeful that I will be able to give myself the respect I deserve and start looking after my body.
I'm not really overweight (according to the BMI charts). I am a size 12/14 now and weigh 10stone which is perfectly ok for my height. Thing is I have always been very very slim perviously and so now I have put on weight I feel very uncomfortable as I am. Also it's all gone on round my middle - and after 4 children I've got the biggest muffin top:o
I'm going to update my sig later with my weight and I have already been to tesco today to stock up on some more healthy foods.
I always used to have a bowl of natural yoghurt with sliced bananas in for my breakfast - which I will start having again (starting tomorrow:))
thanks again guys and best of luck to you all in your quest.0 -
Hi everyone,
Can I join you?
I lost weight whilst I was pregnant, and since I stopped breastfeeding 3 months ago, I have put all that weight back on. I was so happy to have lost weight, and bought a whole load of new clothes, and realised over the last week that they are getting so tight. It's really disheartening.
I was never meant to be thin , but in three months I've put on about 40lbs.
Now if only if it was that easy to lose..... (and whilst I lost weight really easily in pregnancy, all that morning sickness  ) another baby is not an option.
So, 2lbs per week sounds do-able - please can I join?

Hi Malima
Well done on your loss this week :j The only help I can give you about the spices is that in my little book curry spices average out at approx 65 calories per ounce, what that translates to in syns is beyond me, but if the packet is for 4 servings the satisfaction from the taste will far outweigh the few calories involvedIMHO
unless of course it's a 1lb packet :rotfl:

Hi sooz and
It's like waiting for a bus, you wait ages and then two come along together :rotfl: I couldn't believe it when I read your post and that like peanutpie you too had lost weight during pregnancy :T
I must say though, that a gain of 40lbs in three months is certainly some achievement, but the good thing is that you have realised now that you need to do something about it, not in another three months when you could be the proud possessor of another 40. I think all of us here agree with you that we wish it was as easy (and enjoyable) to lose, but it's a case of getting on with it. Keep those clothes handy, like I've mentioned earlier, so that they inspire and motivate you. A weekly loss of 2lbs should be fine but take it easy and try not to look too far ahead, it will soon come off :j . Do you have any particular plan in mind, or like some folk here, will you do it your own way by cutting out certain things? Whatever way you do it there is loads of support here, so stay with us and join in our monthly challenges which I find to be really helpful.
I'm still waiting for my cross trainer thingy to come, and I'm getting very cross!! Lucky you karren I wish I had a friend like that. Good luck with it, I shall just dream about mine :rotfl:
