I have been thinking a lot about a bacon sandwich;) The girls at work buy them from the local coffee shop all big bread, big tasting and looking lovingly at me but so far no bacon has ever passed my lips no sire but soon;)

I've been doing my shopping online to save money and so I am not tempted to buy treats, when I did a search for bacon one came up by Mattesons, they are turkey rashers and are less than 2% fat - will let know know what they are like

    Hi, back again.
I am amazed by how well Victory, petrichor, honey and you others have done off your own back.
I never did manage to get on the exercise bike yesterday - decided to get rid of all my size 14 clothes so I didn't grow back into them instead!!
Will make an effort tonight although I have walked my daughter back and fourth to school today so thats 5 miles altogether!!:j

hello all, well day 4 of the diet and all is well. i have never eaten so much in my life! i have a 1600 cal a day plan from tesco diets (or ediets) and each meal is 480 cal plus 160cal of snacks. but i am finding that i can't eat all that they suggest per meal eg breakfast is a bowl of branflakes plus milk, a slice of toast and jam and a banana. i'd not normally have that much for breakfast. and i could kill for a mars bar - need to resist as i have 3 stone to lose!

  • Hi All,

I joined about 2 weeks ago and this is my first post! I am struggling to even get started. the more i think "right diet starts tomorrow" the more i want to eat!
The lbs are piling on as i am eating everything in sight. I really am a pig. I'm constantly thinking about what to eat next and when can i nip to shops for more food!

I have done all diets going. Yes they all work WW, rosemary C, but it is getting started and sticking to it!
I lost nearly 2 stone last summer and have managed to put back on about 16lbs of it.
I also tried slimming pills i bought off eay, meant to kill your appetite (bad i know but desperate) lasted 2 weeks lost 8lbs, but then went back to mu old ways and back on it went.
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What can i do? I ate my dinner an hour ago and i'm hungry again. In fact just off to shops for biscuit, crisps and choc supply!

    ANy advice greatly appreciated.

    Hi Treasure ....

are you sure that you're really hungry ? Or are you just thirsty? bored? Possibly stressed or maybe even emotional? We all can all imagine feelings of hunger when it's something else...... If you do go to the shop for munchies.... make sure you enjoy every bite. Don't shovel it all down you're throat in one go and be aware of what you're eating and don't feel guilty about eating your treats.

As for getting the motivation to lose weight, why do you want to lose weight? If it's not for yourself then don't bother because you'll not stick to it and only end up resenting the person you're supposed to be doing it for.

I very much doubt that you're a pig... (I've managed to comfort eat myself up to 16stone!).

Maybe you should try thinking positively about losing weight.... don't diet, have a healty eating plan... replace your normal crisps etc. for healthier alternatives.... frozen grapes is always a good one! Imagine how you will look and feel about yourself when you have lost the weight.. and try to keep that feeling with you.

Think I've preached enough for now. Except for this.... I just wanted to remind you not to feel bad about eating your treats... you're welcome to rejoin us on the weightloss wagon as soon as you're done - no-one here will judge you for it.

    Hi all,
Very happy to report a 2lb loss, so 5lb overall over last 2 weeks. So pleased. Well done to everyone. This is a great thread, very inspirational.
Last few days I've walked morning and evening with the dog. Covering much greater distances than usual. Taking it slow, as that's the only speed at the moment! The dog needs to lose weight so good for them too. They were so pleased to see me come home the other day they jumped up to greet me, as if to say hey my walking friend is here! Lets go.

But not all good...have let myself down a bit - think I only lost because I upped the exercise to compensate but the weekend started with an indian meal, then crisps, then etc etc. Pathetic will power. Instead of letting myself feel low and beating myself up over it - have thought right must exercise. Only problem is my metabolism is racing (great) but my hunger is increasing (oh no).
Was in the bakers and saw my favourite scrummy apple pie, but thought do I want to eat that and basically make my jeans tighter, more uncomfortable etc. So didn't buy it.

Thanks to Lois for starting this thread, the 5lbs goal is a fab idea. Best of luck to everyone for the coming week.

The trick is to replace all the high sugar, high calorie foods, processed foods with low calorie, high fibre fill you up foods like shreddies, weetabix or oatsosimple for breakfast (keeps you full until lunch) if not a banana in between and then lunch tuna wholemeal sandwich with loads of salad, afternoon apple, in between snacks multi grain ryvita crackers, celery sticks, cucumber slices, pepper slices, fruit, soup is ideal to keep you full with two slices of bread, dinner loads of water based veg like cauli, brocolli, marrow, courgettes, etc with fish, dessert sugar free jelly or fruit, loads of water in between, keep up the exercise...

Every time you get hungry question it? Is it boredom, wait 20 mins have a glass of water and then see, go for a walk, talk to a friend, do your nails, have a bath, go and see someone, the more you have time to think about food the more you eat, take up swimming or cycling, keep busy...

    Well done mine

Can I join in please. I am over 50 and have got that terrible middle age spread, have lost my waist and feel so fat, old and frumpy. But I am going to do something about it and loose at lease 1.5 stone!!!! Starting weight 12 stone 7lbs.
I am trying to avoid bread as that is my real down fall.

You have all done so well, I feel inspired to have a go!!!

    Thanks
