    Hi

I too have loads of weight to loose.. Probably 9 stone in total, but I try to break it down.. If I can loose 2 stone I'd be happier than I am now!
I'm new to this sight but find it encouraging. I dont understand the C and LL stand for. http://www.losingweighteasily.com

    Morning all!

Hope you're all doing well - congratulations to all of you who have lost some lbs this week...keep plugging away at it, you'll soon be there!

I'm joining the maintainers this week - but hopefully only for one week. Think it's probably water retention as I've not been drinking as much as I should...well, I have been drinking... :D It's a bit disappointing when you stand on the scales and the numbers haven't changed, but I keep telling myself that at least I'm lighter than I was 6 weeks ago...can't be bad.

Take care all, and hope you have a good week...

    Cheers
    D.

    Hi dawny

I was so taken with your 2 in 1 thingy, so I googled it and found this here Is this like the one you have? I realise it's the cheapest but I don't want to splash out on something if I decide I don't like it. I've got a mini stepper which I use regularly but I want something else now to exercise other parts of my body than just my legs.

Suggs As the official LW fitness guru ;) what's your opinion please?

    xxxx

(I've just found out how you do the 'here' linking)

    Morning

    What does LW mean?

I like and prefer the Elliptical cross trainer, because you can use both arms and legs in the preference you perfer. You can go all legs, all arms or both :) Have to say I not seen it as a bike, more as a stand up style, but I sure it works and at the end of the day if it works for you all the better.

By the way regarding the link posted, did anyone look at the before and after photos? A tad posed methinks :) Shoulders up! Shoulders down! :rotfl:

Hello everyone, I just found this thread and think its great, so would like to join in.

I have no idea how much weight I have to lose, as I am terrified to get on the scales. I was overweight all my childhood, but manage to lose around five stone about five years ago, I became a gym bunny indeed, but ive gone back to uni for a pg degree and that has been the end of it :-(
On the plus side though, I found the man of my dreams and recently married him, however the relationship only added to my change of habits (you know, rather spend time together than going to the gym, enjoying meals together and that). My diet is not that bad, we're vegetarians and cook from scratch using fresh stuff, but quite frankly its nothing compared to the ultra clean diet i had when going to the gym (boiled veggies+tuna in water, the occasional piece of fruit and that was that!).
I guess my genetics only allow me to be thin with a strict diet and a 3 hour a day gym routine, as nothing else has made me go back to my "slim" weight. And trust me, I tried before the wedding, but I still look very overweight in the pictures, and that is adding to my low mood at the moment... I just never thought I would regain the weight that took me so long to lose! And as it is now, I just dont see how can that lifestyle fit into my current one, if you know what I mean?
Sorry about the rant, I've been very upset since I saw the pictures of my wedding, I didnt want to be a fat bride!
Anyway, if anyone has any bit of advice, I would truly appreciate it, and I hope to be able to face the scales again!
    Thanks!

Brilliant also to victory and suggs, so close now. Will you treat yourselves when you hit target and put yourselves back three weeks? :rotfl:

Petrichor - congrats^^ 2 st marker  So good of you to give yourself a good talking to! *glues toys to pram - just in case :D *

I'm seem to be missing a page of comments so I'll be back...

Hmm... I missed two pages :)

Welcome kelsi, Casper, Mary, mapcr and pegginout

Congrats on the loss Sa1 and well done on the maintain Ishtar :j

With regard to this exercise thing :eek I'm seriously thinking of getting something to help me. LW10 very nearly had me running to the gym until my OH said it would be a waste of money (true but hardly supportive!) and my best friend said I would absolutely hate it. Seeing as she is a fitness freak I took her at her word and bottled it so...

... recommendations please? I hate jumping around so exercise videos are out but the bike by dawny interests me. At the moment I walk everyday with the dog but most of what needs toning is on my stomach :( Would the bike / cross walker help in this stubborn area? I like the idea of watching a CSI episode or reading a book while doing it.

Erlqueen to be fair, my big target is just a staging post, unlike a few people I am still miles away from BMI or even to be regarded as slim. Not that I am complaining :) I just have more than most to lose :) However because of my rugby playing, and my dietictian argees so far, I do not want to lose much more, so maybe I will aim for an additional 1 1/2 - 2 stone so I pass the 10 stone mark lost but still can play a decent game of rugby.

If I was to hit that target it would have been well over 18 months on this merry go round and I guess I should try to see if I can actually maintain this weight loss.

Damm that looks like a ramble now  sorry

Treatwise I am not sure, what would you ladies suggest?

mapcr - be brave and bite the bullet! Take a deep breath, get on the scales, take your measurements and really look at yourself naked in a mirror. You can then go forwards and take positive steps to take you to the person you'd like to see in the mirror. Good luck with it.

Stick with us, take small steps at first and just make gradual changes. Unless you feel you have to be totally strict with yourself like victory :)

    You'll get there I'm sure.

No, no - you go ahead and ramble :)

That close to losing 10st? That is incredible! :j You know - I don't actually notice the 'stones' lost because the chart is in 'pounds' but you've shed a whole person!!! (unless they are hid under your bed :rotfl: ). You have a whole new lifestyle now, to your old one, so I'm sure you'll find it much easier to maintain and the compliments you received from people you haven't seen for ages must have been one heck of a boost to the confidence and the 'feel good, factor.

I have been thinking a lot about a bacon sandwich;) The girls at work buy them from the local coffee shop all big bread, big tasting and looking lovingly at me but so far no bacon has ever passed my lips no sire but soon;)

I have to be strict because cannot trust myself, shame really but I know me and me likes yummy food, mountain loads of it, all this has made me think though how I really did not need as much as I ate, I mean there was nothig thought of having 3/4/5 packets of crisps a day and don't get me started on pringles, once you pop:D
I am not bringing crisps back into it this time, I don't need them, or the mounds, the portion control has to be strict, I found myself heavily inclined to a choc biscuit last saturday but knew that one would not be what I ate so struggled with the yes I want one and no you can't have one's all afternoon to the extent I was boring myself:D and had the littlest nibble, o.k it was a crumb and that was me knarked off all day long because it was such a to do:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome to all the newbies:j :j

suggs you know you rock, you have done so fantastically well, take my hat off to you, know how hard it is and read your posts in awe, you deserve the weight loss, you go boy xx
