malima o.5 gain pafff, not even worth getting bothered about girl, you know you can do it, put that to the back of your mind and be fierce this week and that 1 stone certificate will be yours, you can smell it is so close:j :j
Welcome heather38 the very best of luck with the tesco diet, let us know how you get on:D0 -
Good Morning Everyone :hello:
Hi and Welcome Heather to this friendly and helpful thread. I presume that your avatar shows the cause of your weight gainbut what a worthy cause! Good luck with the diet plan that you've chosen, there is someone else on here that's following the same one (name escapes me at the moment) but keep with us here for extra motivation.
katmad Good luck with your exam and thenlike there's not tomorrow :rotfl:
Hard luck malima for that tiny gain, but :T for keeping positive, that 1 stone mark is at your fingertips.
Victory How's your gout today? I hope it's not so painful. You speak for us all with .........do I regret anything? Only one- that I never did it sooner, now I have my life back, the life I deserve, I join in, have fun, look good in clothes, feel good and all for a bit of effort on my part- excellent price to pay:D
I wish that I hadn't just kept procrastinating either, I feel so much better both physically and mentally.
Well, I have a very hard test of my willpower later today. There is a continental market etc in our town this weekend and I will have to walk past and totally ignore the stall that sells all that gorgeous, tasty, yummy, soul satisfying, genuine Turkish Delight - I'm salivating at the thought. I can't trust myself to eat just 1 or 2 pieces a day and at this stage I'm not going to destroy all the hard work put in so far, so it's total abstinence from all that gorgeous.. tasty... yummy....soul satisfying.....No! I'm cool about it
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I keep reading and re-reading this list, because I can't believe how restrictive it is. But apart from the fact that eating such a limited diet would quickly get boring so difficult to stick to, the fact that you can't eat dairy products seems to me to be missing out a very important nutrient - calcium. Women in particular are prone to osteoporosis, which is avoidable by eating enough dairy products. Where else can you get calcium?
This diet also sounds very much like the kind of regime body builders follow. I used to work with a man who increased in bulk from 14 to 17 stone - all muscle, no fat - and he used to eat the kind of foods that are in the allowed list.
Is your trainer a body building enthusiast?
In my opinion, if you increase the amount of exercise you do, but keep your calorie intake the same, you will lose weight. The principle being that losing weight requires using less calories than you eat. I think your trainer should stick to advising you on the best way to exercise to improve your fitness and increase metabolism, and keep his diet advice to himself!
What have you decided to do?

Hi folks
Back for my once a week heck in. Down 1lb this week so nothing very startling but better then up 1lb. Hours at work not officially reduced so planning to walk much more and bus much less. Will go and do garden this afternoon (much less likely to eat biscuits with earthy fingers!) then try to find something really good for tea.
Everyone (mostly) seems to be doing really well from the little I have had time to read.
Thanks for all the welcome!

well done welsh and kat:j :j :j , Kat my weight loss has gone down to 1 lb each week and I think it is brilliantly better than putting it on so you think positive, 1 lb loss is much closer to your target than 1 lb gain:D
petrichor we had a market like that right outside where I work for 3 days!! I love paella and there it was in all it's glory but hey ho had none because I did not want to gain, I so wanted to loose and continued to do so, making it all worthwhile, all the abstinance is worth it in the end, won't be forever!!
The gout is still there but less, it is quite something to be in this much pain from an inflammed foot! I have only been given one tablet to take each day so am looking at 4/5 days before it feels normal again and on MONDAY I have a uric acid blood test to see if I carry too much uric acid, I have been on the internet looking it up and for the life of me cannot understand why I have this!! I even asked the doctor, had I ate or drank something that set it off but he said no, told him about the weight loss and he said well done but what abut the smoking when is that going to stop?!!!! Doctors are never happy, my BMI is perfect, weight fine, Body fat fab and still moaning!!0 -
Hen night last night so had a fab chinese and rather a lot of wine!
Dont regret it now but I may come Tuesday!!

Hey dellybelly! Good to see you again!
Well done for jumping/clambering (delete as necessary) onto the wagon again. I'm with the rest about your trainer's diet. Avoiding bread is quite ok, but... no fruit and no dairy at all? That's too much! We all need a minimum intake of that. That's what I'd go for, the tiniest amount of yogurt and semi-skimmed milk, but eliminating it completely from your diet seems like... anatema.
Cor, now I'm craving for some fresh milk. Mind you, getting used to drink less milk is not so hard. I love, no, I adore milk, and nowadays drink it only with tea and coffee to keep to the roughly one glass of semi-s SW allows, and I find that satisfying. It's more difficult with bread, whereas it is really good to stay away from it as much as possible, even if it's wholemeal; there are many other sources of fiber, vegs being one of them. I also wonder why he'd restrain other vegs than green ones - I don't know what I'd do without onions, for instance.
How did this guy come to the conclusion dairy is your fiend? Did he get a record of your usual diet? Speak to him about your doubts over his choice and ask him to reason them. Tell him knowing why you do things will make you feel much more motivated and self-assured.
My trainer gave me a diet too, and told me it was up to me if I gave it a try. But it's a completely different one. Actually, it strikes me there's a lot of bread products involved. Still, it's a balanced diet, and yes, it works. Another thing is that I manage to do it well every week...'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -
Hello all.
Checking in a bit late this week after my weigh in at WW on Tuesday. Good news is I lost 2 lbs, making a total of 8lbs over two weeks.
Have avoided eating any of the cakes and biscuits bought by work colleagues thus week. in fact that was easy as I had absolutely no desire to eat any. Long may that feeling last!!
This evening my OH suggested chinese takeaway (which I love) but I told him just to get some for himself, as I was going to have a salad. And very nice it was too. I can't remember the last time I turned down a Chinese meal - probably never!
However, I have already got booked a Chinese lunch on Friday with work mates to celebrate pay day and my birthday.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
