    no MILK OR DAIRY PRODUCTS

There was an experiment on the BBC program "The truth about food" that showed (if I remember rightly) that dairy products (even low fat ones) picked up a lot more saturated fat on their way through the body, and so were a good way of helping reduce it. They did tests that involved analysing poos! I'll go and have a look and see if I can find a link.

You're right; I remember this one too. But had to eat a lot of LOW FAT dairy, not cheddar.

I'm getting into having bento boxes for lunch - they look so fresh, low calorie, but really exciting. I also bought a stanley food flask to take things like pasta into work. Yum!

See, I watched that programme too.... and it made loads of sense to me. ... I don't really have a major problem cutting out cheese (although I do love it so) but never having low fat natural yoghurts for a treat every day to kill the sweet tooth cravings just isn't possible! BUT, when I mentioned it to the trainer his reply was that eating dairy has got me where I am! (nice guy). To give him his dues, he did say that he's not a trained counsellor or anything.

LisMissEmmylou : I have been thinking about trying to lose weight and control my eating habits for a while now and to be perfectly honest. I have found that the best way of getting me into thinking positively about starting a healthy eating plan has been Dr Phil's ultimate weight solution. I'm not sure if you've heard of him. His website ishttp://drphil.com/articles/category/7/
Sorry, can't do that fancy thing with the links :o.

Now, I'm not recommending that you follow his eating plan or anything but he does say there are 7 keys to weighloss success. If you have a quick look at the website you'll get an idea of what he means. You can get the book in most shops. I've found that reading the book has helped me question why I put off losing weight etc. It's a slow change. but is a good tool to get you motivated.

If you want to know anything more, give me a shout!

yeah, that's the reason we're all trying to lose weight, too much milk in our tea and too many muller lights...nothing to do with all the chips, cake and sweets!!
    :rotfl:
sorry but that made me laugh, it's not dairy's fault unless you eat a block of cheese a day, which obviously i assume you do not. eating excessive amounts of the wrong kinds of food is the problem, which everyone does, but that doesnt mean you have to cut anything out.
That's why we're all here, to develop a healthier lifestyle, and that shouldnt mean denying yourself anything. i think a dietician is probably a better person to ask about food than a gym trainer.
    Just my 2 cents worth!!

(now, back to revising!!) hope everyone's well!

Hey, take a look here at some very wise advice from fellow WL member victory : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=5042124&postcount=1239 Perhaps this will help? Maybe you need to focus on exactly why you want to lose weight, how and how much, and make little targets or goals for yourself, with treats at the end. (and if you're short on cash for clubs then perhaps copy petrichor in saving the money you would have spent in a jar to treat yourself when u reach your targets?)
    hope that helped

The site that dellbelly gave you is very good, just common sense, look at this way, in plain English as it has been said before, your body is your temple, if you were a car that took petrol you would not put diesel into it and ruin the engine would you?

Your motivation has to come from you, strip infront of the mirror and look at yourself and what you want to change, what you feel you can improve by weight loss, what it will be like to fit into a smaller size, on the beach this summer, lying there sipping cocktails!

Surround yourself with good positive vibes, you want to loose weight because 1)health, 2) high self esteeem 3) lovely clothes 4) lower your blood pressure or cholestrol or to make it easier to get about, to join in, to be part of things.

Make a positive and negative list of why you want to loose weight, make a food diary, make menu lists, make a pact only to buy low fat products and to cook from fresh banning all high calorie, high sugar, processed foods, make time to go for a walk or a cycle to get the metabolism moving and the exercise back up again...

Measure yourself, waist, hips, legs, boobs, arms and write it all down before you start, you will be impressed when the inches start coming off...

Seek some support from friends, family, tell them not to tempt you and to be there for you when it gets hard, because it will get hard, it is sometimes all time consuming, depressing, hard and you could give up, don't, it iis all worth it in the end, I promise.
Drink loads of water, I love hot lemon and have replaced that with caffeine and feel miles better.
Your body and you will thank you in the end for the efforts you can put into the weight loss by you looking and feeling like a million dollars and strutting your stuff down the road:D

You can do it, I did, not an easy road but I am on the last leg now and do I regret anything? Only one- that I never did it sooner, now I have my life back, the life I deserve, I join in, have fun, look good in clothes, feel good and all for a bit of effort on my part- excellent price to pay:D
