    Hello all

I would like to lose some weight, or to put it more clearly, not lose weight but lose my stomach and extra chin!!

I get tired very quickly. A day at work, or even a few hours at home and I need some sleep and I think by losing some weight may help. A better diet etc.

The problem is, i've tried all this before and felt really hungry all the time and I dive for the nearest chocolate bar/packet of crisps!

I cannot eat too much of certain things as too much makes me ill and gives me pain! Too much dairy & bread for example, amongst other things.

I have no idea on what foods to eat apart from the obvious - fruit and veg but I need something that is not going to make me dive for the biscuits!

Any suggestions, or any pointers to threads that may be able to help?

    Thanks

    Hi Sylvester

There are many ways to lose weight, but the most effective is to use more calories than you eat (easier said than done, I know!).

I would recommend you make an appointment with your GP - they can give you some diet sheets to start you off, and I'd mention your tiredness and food problems too - there may be an underlying problem that you should be checked out for.

    Good luck

I'm back once more planning to get on the lose weight wagon. ... I know it's been a while (can't remember how long - was it lose weight 10?) and glad to see some familiar names. Hi Lois, Honey, Suggs, Katyk, Maduri and everyone else. You guys should be so proud of yourselves. I've been and gone (about 3 times now) and you're all still here.

Wish me luck (here's hoping I'll not be too badly tortured). I'll fill you in when I get back.

    Dellybelly.

    Good Morning All

Well done :T :Tto both bindiboo and Edimew :T :T joint SOTW

Weel done Lois on losing 2lbs, I tend to overlook your losses :o too busy looking at the chart, but I notice that last week you didn't update my total (sorry! I didn't notice 'til today) this should now be 27.8. Thanks.

Welcome to LW12 Sylvester Are you able to eat meat, pulses etc? Like all methods of losing weight it really is just (I say just!) a matter of burning more calories than you eat, and using various forms of exercise to target those problem areas. I like fruit etc but find I need proteins for the 'satisfying' feel.

Welcome back dellybelly :T and 'Good Luck' hope you aren't too cream crackered when you get back.

Hi arthur I've seen you in the 'Arms', I often pop over just to browse. When I first decided back in January that I was too much of a porker, MTC was only just starting his thread and I'd joined here first. I think that by 'bad calories' they mean by non nutritious ones, if I had the calories I wanted they'd all be from malt whisky :o:o but I'm sure Eri will be back to enlighten us.

Please note that I don't decry any other means of dieting, I know that SW/WW are hugely successful for lots of folk :D so whatever floats your boat :j

    xxxx

    Edit ..non added Thanks Eri

Lol, sarcasm petrichor :rotfl: By bad I mean the none nutritious ones. For example - yesterday was a grab and run day. Haven't been near a big supermarket for nearly 3 weeks and didn't have time to go to the farm shop. I did, however, have less then 1600 cals yesterday.

Breakfast - 2 slices of Warburtons Toastie, Lurpak spreadable, bit of marmalade.
Lunch - 2 slices of Toastie (all the bread I have at work), Lurpak and a small portion of chips
Late tea - slice of ham, smide of butter, 2 slices small med Warburtons.
Milk - approx. 100 ml, skimmed

If I throw in 600 cals for the chips I had approx. 1500 cals.

For slimming world the only free food I had was the slice of ham and as the bread was white I had no heb (fibre) and not enough hea (calcium). As for the sins - I can't count that high.

I can and often do have days like this - except the chips which I very rarely buy ergo the bad calories. I couldn't live on the mars bars that Lois mentioned but it's the same principle. I had no fruit or veg, no mid afternoon snacks.

If I still attended class they would make me stand in the corner for being so naughty :o

EDIT - and hello arthur :D

I exercise alot, walk everywhere, have my own weights etc etc, but nothing seems to budge!

Sadly, i've seen the Doctor before and she said "You know what to do" and told me to eat "more fruit and veg" and also had a prod of my stomach and that was it.

Yes, I seem to eat alot of meat to make up for the fact I can eat little else. I eat things like baked beans for pulses as don't like other pulses.

I guess i'm impatient and feel ugly and i'm getting frustrated! I have a partner, but feel she'll go off me if I don't lose the weight, not that she's ever given a sign she will, I guess that's my insecurity at being overweight, even though i'm told it's not my much :o

    Hi De Hi Campers!

Welcome Back Delly , good to have you back with us - make sure you stay with us this time and let us know how the trainer went!

Have been sticking to my "healthy eating" plan well this week, am determined that the scales will show a loss this week. Dunno where this newly found motivation and determination has come from but hey, lets hope it lasts!

Welcome Sylvester . I'm quite sure that you are not in the least bit ugly, when we are depressed about our weight we tend to put ourselves down. You are making the first positive step by admitting that you want to lose some weight and doing something about it. I'm sure your partner will be 110% behind you if you tell her you are trying to cut down. Maybe you could do some exercise together (;)) - go out walking in the evenings, out on bikes etc (or some scrabble /ludo as its called on here :rotfl: )Get rid of all the biscuits from your house, they are temptation for you. If they arent there you cant eat them. Why not snack on some raw veg -carrot batons, slices of peppers. A low fat favourite on here at the minute is sugar free jelly. Low fat yogurts are also good. Good luck with it, keep posting and we'll have you on the straight and narrow in no time.

I think I'll come and join you in the corner.

I'll go and edit that post so that it doesn't confuse others

Hello again and thank s for all the nice things you have said. i shall remain a pie club member but I am going to keep checking in on this thread aswell. I weigh in fortnightly at the doctors and so I don't have weekly weight loss unfortunately. As you can see from my sig I have quite a bit to lose and I thought that 1200 was a bit low but the nurse who put me on it said, when queried, I don't eat as much as that on a normal day. So I will do as I was snottily told even though I am not too sure its a long term solution.

    Thanks again, Denty.
    Loving the dtd thread. x

You have a partner so you can't be ugly, so try and dispel those thoughts now; but believe me we all feel that way at times, despite what our loved ones tell us. As honey has just said try and get MsS to help you and come up with some low cal meals that incorporate those things that you do like. I like to make lo-cal curries and anything with a load of taste so that I know that I've eaten it. Try not to get frustrated either, it will come off in time, although at first it seems insurmountable.

On here we have our very own Suggs who will be able to give you a man's view on this, he is a huge source of inspiration and he'll be along shortly.

Your doctor doesn't seem very supportive, I think that's quite wrong.

Whatever you do, stay with us and between us, we'll crack it :j
