Before I lose my motivation having read through just half this thread, please may I join too?
I'm a good 3.5 stone over weight (not quite ready to divulge actual numbers, suffice it to say it's in the teens, not just double figures - I'm not Victoria Beckham!) and have been for very many years on again off again. My lightest ever was 11st 2 lbs which happened just after the birth of my DD - she'll be 6 in November
This is just a quick post, to put my name up there so I don't go away and forget about it - I really MUST do something.
Nice to meet you all
Hi:D you are starting at near on the same weight I lost so I know how you feel! I have lost it all bar 3 lb so I know it can be done, taken 5 months but it has been worth every struggle to be like I am now....also my son is 6 and after having him never went on a diet until Jan 4th this year when I REALISED enough was enough and something had to be done...
If you need any help or tips just let me know, always happy to help:D

Katmad your chart looks great...just don't know how you work it all out:o Am doing ECDL at moment and the current module is spreadsheets.
It just makes me want to do this:wall: :rotfl:
i'm a bit sad, i know  (and i'll be honest, there isnt anything you can't do when you use the help files!!:o) Hope you're feeling better soon
thanks petrichor, i dont really know how i'm managing it either, but i tackled yet another exam today, and now i only have one left (saturday morning). Revision is a nightmare anyway but i think being really good in between stressy days has helped as i dont give myself too much of a hard time when i munch as a result of the pressure. I'm getting a bit of a cold too...but i'm not going to let that get me down...3 days til saturday and a whole day of celebrating!! <--there will be lots of that happening!! (i'll do my best to stick to the spirits and diet mixers....but i just know i'll end up on pints on snakebite again!! a traditional student drink seems fitting for my last day of being a student!!)
Anyway, i'm going to keep going with this spreadsheet calorie counting as i think it might be working despite my recent slip ups..as i a very pleased to report a 2lb loss!!! :j :j :j
Also i would like to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU!! to Erlqueen, who kindly sent me her SW books. I am really looking forward to giving them a good read and getting into it. I've decided to see how i go with cals in May and then start SW in June!! Thanks again!!

Hi all
I'm pleased to report a 2lb loss this week
The calorie counting has definitely focussed my mind - I keep picking at things that are 'free food' on SW, and then remember that everything has to be counted! Yesterday was quite good calorie wise, I had enough left for a glass of wine, which went down well.
I've just done my calculations for today, and I'm shocked! I had vegetable curry with couscous, and luckily I worked out the calories before I served it, as the amount I would normally eat would be 1058 calories  (All free food on SW). I made the decision to reserve a small portion for lunch tomorrow, and I'm splitting the calories between the two days, which means my total so far for today is 1600, and I'm having a glass of wine!
Here's my chart for today.
