    Good morning all
    :bdaycake:
Happy Birthday CY! Have a lovely day and enjoy your Chinese meal. Hope your DH gets definite news soon - there's nothing worse than being kept dangling on the end of a thread.

Hope you had a good birthday yesterday, Dragon

Congratulations to auntie-moneypenny on your new niece :j

Glad the new broom sweeps clean, ark-babe ;)

My DH has gone off for his last few hours at work - at least, we assume that he will come home retired, as he hasn't had a phonecall during his 2 days of leave. If it all goes pearshaped now, I suspect that he will be off sick pretty sharpish, as he's already not in a good state of mind today.

When my DH left his previous job in London and invited people to join him for a drink after work a few days later, nobody turned up. I wasn't going to have him left disappointed like that all over again this time, on top of everything else that has happened to him recently, so I spent yesterday afternoon and evening making cakes for him to take in for his mates, who have kept him sane (well, sort-of) over the past year. He has gone off with a fruit loaf and a banana bread suitable for the diabetics and anyone else wanting low sugar and low fat, and a chocolate-covered chocolate cake and a plain sponge with jam and coconut topping for those who eat everything (which probably means almost everyone).

It's a grey and misty day here too, to go with DH's mood. Even the squirrels look miserable.

There's very little flying to be done this morning, but I have got to get the boxes ready to pack in the car for our trip to Northampton tomorrow, where we are displaying all our course materials. If anyone happens to have booked to come to the event at Northampton High School between 10 am and 4 pm, do come over to the Steps stall and introduce yourself!!!

:coffee: at 10:30 when I've finished flying - do join me then and put your feet up for 5 minutes - then I shall set to and finish off the last few crafty bits, which I shall enjoy :D

    Happy belated Birthday DRAGONHSthbdayparty-1.gif

Happy Birthday Cycling HShappybirthdaynotes.gif- clearly we're on an AGE saving site, too;)

The best laid plans of mice and Valli gang aft agley.

Travelling to work yesterday afternoon (for parent's evening - not a working day so unpaid but we had no staff meeting this week;)) there was a terrific bang and the Vallimobile started doing a very passable aural impression of a Lancaster Bomber (or any other WWII plane, really) and when I parked up at work I looked underneath and sure enough half the exhaust had fallen out with the other half!

Fortunately Mike the Mechanic listened to me wail that the ONLY day I have free for a repair was today, he had a look (hoist it up on a ramp) as did I and I need a new 'front' bit of exhaust. At least it's not a whole system. :money: So one of the things I had planned to do today has been deferred; I am getting on with a few bits here then off on an errand.

    Congratulations to Auntie-Moneypenny!

    Thank you Honey Bear
  • Off to get my arm re-dressed as it is killing today, need drive 70 miles to TOWIE town to see my sister and pre-pay Mum funeral before price increases in April.

When I get back I need to crack out the V@x, as evil migraine yesterday caused a profuse stomach de-clutter (fall out from Mega stress ESA appointment on Wed:mad::eek::mad:) - Skint Baby was held out of the line of fire, but her playmat wasn't so lucky and is soaking in kitchen sink before going anywhere near the WM, but it didn't catch 100% - and it would be on the section of carpet that I already cleaned last week.

Flying so far has been limited to one froggy estate phone call, hoover my room, cleaned inside of microwave and removing DS bath toys to window sill to dry off so I can put them away properly later.

Time to get some food on the run, otherwise today will never get started, if I sit here with a cuppa and catch up with Fred

So hugs, sticks, spoons are on the side in the jar, please help yourselves

    See you later
The cold never bothered me anyway

Happy birthday, happy new aunties, happy retirement - all as appropriate.

I have found a fifth smoke alarm in the house I had completely forgotten we had. It's had open-heart surgery and a new pacemaker inserted, alongside another one, as I changed the battery in the wrong one first and decided that they may just as well be renewed together. It also means I have a bit of spare life in a battery for one of the three downstairs that will no doubt go in the middle of a night and drive a lodger to complete distraction.
    Better is good enough.

    Hi all

High-Fives, congrats, and well dones as appropriate.:D
    Hoppy Birdday CY:beer:
Natty :hello: you decent yet, sweetie? I was up and dressed by 07:00, but again lost a couple of hours to flake-out after Mr LW left for work. So that's not so good.
When I get back I need to crack out the V@x, as evil migraine yesterday caused a profuse stomach de-clutter (fall out from Mega stress ESA appointment on Wed:mad::eek::mad:)
(((HUG))) that's what stress will do to me, too.:( I hope you're feeling better today.

I got an email re dog-sitting yesterday; this is still to be confirmed, but Mary might be coming to stay for a month!! A Whole Month!! So I might be doing minimal posting (and probably minimal flying) while she's here, if it comes to fruition.:o

I did the spare room yesterday, as well as the bedroom, so am ahead of myself this week; I also ate a Frog and painted the bottom of the large bird feeder with H@mmerite. It's in the spare room to dry, and the small one, which I gave it's annual maintenance check earlier, is outside with bird-food in, so they're having to make do with that at the moment. I need to get some more bird-food; Mr LW will pop over to stony Stratford for the F&V run tomorrow, I might get him to pop into the pet place while he's at it.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
