I thought I would carry on with Dusty's thread last week for this week to enable more of us to feel we had achieved something and with spring approaching; each day will give you some basic flying, some deep cleaning choices and some decluttering choices. As ever feel free to pick and mix what needs doing for you according to your ability and time.
................................
Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Vacuum floor, mop if hard floor - don't forget pick up anything that shouldn't be there and rehome.
Clear and wipe down dining room table.
Deep Cleaning
Clean kitchen cupboard doors, don't forget kickboards.
Wipe and shine kitchen sink, don't forget the taps and the gunky area at the bottom of the taps - I want you to see your faces in those shiney taps :D
Clean kitchen window making it sparkle, don't forget to clear the windowsill of unwanted gumph!!
Decluttering
HHC - put on some lively music and have a bop around while doing this.
Clear out any cupboards that are getting overfilled with gibble, rehome if possible if not bin!

Decluttering
Get a bag or box, go around collecting things that are not in the place they should be, then put them back where they should be. You could delegate and give everyone their own misplaced things to deal with :D
Phone a friend or loved one, catch up on the gossip or just to tell them you care xx
Check where important documents like passports, birth certificates, driving licences, medical cards are and make a note of where they are and if any need replacing, changing etc :D
Sort through any magazines or paperwork lying around. Any that you don't want/need maybe you could give to the Dr's or Dentists near you.

Thanks for the lists this week Natty and Dusty for last weeks.

House is being to take shape. My dad finally finished decorating my LR (it was my christmas present from him) and all I have to do is pick and buy the carpet. In 10+ years of house ownership I've not had to buy a carpet before, anyone got any tips? I have 3 cats and I'm a bit clumsy (if I manage to drink a cuppa without spilling it then I've done well :o:rotfl:)

    Have a great week all

Thanks for the lists Natty and Dusty. I am really seeing the effect of a couple of weeks back flying. This weekend I have been able to have a break from flying and enjoy my clean and tidy home and as a result, had time to have a lovely play with my girls this afternoon. :D

I'm in again this week with view to keeping on top of things again.

BTW - I have kept up with my ironing so I have none to do now.:D:D Just had to point this out as usually I have loads. I plan on keeping this up as long as possible.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Ask for a carpet that is easy to vacuum. Even though my carpets are NOT nylon the one in my hall, stairs & landing is like a fluff magnet. The ones in the bedrooms (all the same; bought them with the 'mansion';) aren't much better. Every so often I bite the bullet and HAND BRUSH them with a dampened scrubbing brush. DD is an angel and does hers often:A

Like Cycling, not much got done this week. Bathroom and kitchen are decent now, though, and the ironing/laundry got done - but otherwise - sheesh!
