Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Photogenic I've been Money Tipped!
Back late as I've been researching something online :o Also got a bit distracted watching the fireman dampening down the fire. ;)

In my HHC I washed up a batch of dishes, had to put some more in to soak, tidied the worktops off again, cleaned my whiteboard up after DD tried to use an orange pen on it which then wouldn't rub off despite being a whiteboard marker apparently (said pens now next to me ready to be used for general colouring in instead of on the whiteboard ;)), made my bed, laundry in my room away, DD's bed made, video of firemen taken to show DD (involved leaning out her bedroom window with my phone and hoping I didn't drop it :rotfl: ) and plenty of sunshine and fresh-ish air obtained :D.

Now I'm going to sit for a bit with a hot coffee & a slice of cake until quarter past while I do my facebook games and a bit of reading ;) then I'll do an hours ironing while I watch one of my programmes ;)

    Morning all

Paid stuff done and the sun is shining. Just having a quick cuppa.

Thanks for all the pollen calming vibes. I am guessing today will be a bad day, dry and breezy. Think I'll have to go back to keeping his window shut and drying his clothes/bedding inside - every little helps.

Ionafan, I hope Friday goes smoothly and next weekend is a great one.

Thank you Natty for this week's list and Dusty for last week'. I'm in again, but flying off-piste. I have a list of 65 jobs I need to do by 5.00 pm tomorrow evening, and have only managed to cross off eight so far. It's going to be a long couple of days.
    Better is good enough.

    Hi All

I'm back from my lovely weekend away, lots of fun and laughs and a new job organising some local events for the charity.

I will be in this week, although I'm at paid stuff Mon-Wed and will be a long day today - just what I needed *sigh* - so might have to catch up on my wfh day tomorrow.

We are fairly neat although I have laundry from the weekend and beds need doing aka more laundry.

Back to the grindstone... Catch up later, hugs to all.

    Missed Ya!

Hi all; I'll be doing the best I can from my own lists this week (with Mr LW wfh tomorrow, so that'll be a bust:cool:).

Dusty I feel for your DS with the pollen. I use an old mascara wand and a smudge of Vaseline on DS3's eyelashes to help him keep the pollen out.
Thanks for that tip:beer: - I shall try it myself; I have some New Era tablets that are the only thing that help my hay fever without knocking me unconscious, and the Vaseline idea sounds like a good additional plan - I have a big jar of the stuff, as I use it on my nails because they splinter so easily.

Rant alert (sorry - I know it's early in the day)
DH's employers have messed up again big time with the paperwork and less than a week before his final meeting with his line manager they have postponed his retirement
DH is naturally very upset - he had psyched himself up to finish work on Friday (not really wanting to go but realising that it would be the best thing for him to do), and now the BD is rearing its ugly head again. We could both do without this additional strain. We'd been looking forward to an end to all the hassle and bullying of the past three years and now this happens
Unfortunately there is little that he can do except wait for them to get their act together - if he just resigns, he won't get the severance pay they've offered him :(
    Rant over (for now)
    ionafan wrote: »
Maybe the rant had something to do with it...

DH has just rung me from work. Apparently Friday is ON again, as his manager has found a computer record with the missing information.
Still  at HR for causing us a miserable weekend.
I do so sympathise - when I was awaiting medical retirement from the MoD they made my life as miserable as possible, hoping I'd resign so that they wouldn't have to pay me a pension. Hang-on-in-there vibes for your DH; remember "non carborundum illegitematus". (Don't let the bar-stewards grind you down).

The Flying Bit: We ate two frogs yesterday; one marginally more than a tadpole - tidying out the writing desk in the spare room - and one big Bullfrog that needed Mr LW's input - he got all our empty jars and bottles out of the loft and we weeded out the best ones to keep (for jam and wine making) and the rest have gone in the blue box to be put out for the recycling lorry, which is due round here tomorrow. He needed to be involved because I can't get up into the loft myself.:o The blue box is absolutely full, even after I carefully stacked the stuff we're getting rid of, to make best use of the space in it.:D

  • Busy day so far:-

    - taken DD to town for School trip
    - paid money into bank
    - walked dog around the park - twas glorious!
    - cut OH's hair - starts new p/t job today :j
    - stipped DS and DD beds - Wm x 2 - now out on line
    - WM on again with darks
    - spent most of morning comparing car insurance - reckon I can save about £150 plus £70 cashback - not a bad hourly rate this sitting at home lark :rotfl:
    - upstairs all tidied
    - 3 boxes of books sorted and sealed ready for car boot

AND I HAVE MOPPED MY KITCHEN FLOOR :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

Off to spritz the bathroom now and will finish that before I pick up DD shortly. You never know, I may even MOP THAT FLOOR TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Top Tip for you all - Heard the weather is going to go downhill from Wednesday (low pressure front from Morocco) and we could be subject to flash floods - best get as much washing out today and tomorrow whilst it's good!

Fingers crossed for Ionafan and MrI for no further hiccups!

    Have a great day everyone.

    I have done HHG.
It took longer to find my seat than the time I actually spent gardening.

I have planted 6 primulas and 24 pansies to make the cottage garden look prettier. Most are in pots so DH brought them into the kitchen. I did most of it on the kitchen table and got loads on the floor which I cleaned earlier.:o
