Thank you for the new list Natty
I must try harder this week!
Dusty I feel for your DS with the pollen. I use an old mascara wand and a smudge of Vaseline on DS3's eyelashes to help him keep the pollen out.
I've completed 3 hours ironing tonight. My 3 nights out last week had to be paid for somewhere. I am again out Tue, Wed, Thu nights so expect to see this post repeated next week.
My youngest is 7 tomorrow. She is so excited! She wants another cake !! I am exhausted but will try to fulfil her wishes when I finish work tomorrow at midday.
Good luck with the weeks flying everyone!0 -

Yep, nasty stuff; I had the 1st hay fever tabs of the season last week and hardly even saw any sun!!
Dusty you weren't at garden centre to save me from myself today; went with OH as couldn't resist the sale for members; saved LOADS by buying enough seeds to grow and eat veg for the rest of Herts, and my flower arranging is going to be spectacular :rotfl: Still we had our free tea and coffee too, so it was worth it!!
Whatever else I don't do this week in flight, I MUST tidy office as a) it needs it (poor motivation and feeble excuse) b) must organise paper and plan freelance life c) BIL will need to sleep in there at Easter as my Mum will be staying in the spare room.
Sad birdie alert have found shredded goldfinch in a pot, presumably dropped by sparrowhawk.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Thanks for the lists ladies - I'm in again this week, fitting it in around the paid stuff again. My youngest is 7 tomorrow. She is so excited! She wants another cake !! I am exhausted but will try to fulfil her wishes when I finish work tomorrow at midday./QUOTE]
How did the party go Mumto5? Did you manage to pull it off okay?
Dusty - sorry to hear about DS3 and pollen. I don't know if this will help, but I have suffered with urticaria (hives) for about the last 6 years and Doctors prescribed all manner of things. The only medicine that works for me, almost immediately, is one called Fexofenadine. It comes in different strengths - 60, 120 and 180 "whatevers". I had to play around with the different ones for a couple of months, but I am now firmly fixed on 180mg once a day. You can only have up to 180 measure max per day and this may be 120 in the morning to get you through the day and then 60 at bedtime, or like me, 180 in one tablet first thing in the morning. Perhaps you could look into it and suggest it to your Doctor? I know urticaria is different to hayfever, but at the end of the day, the medicine covers a whole range of irritants. The pollen season has started now and my eyes are running and nose is stuffy, but a dose of this sorts me out no end and makes my day much better. HTH
Came home from work an hour ago and the family had done most of the kitchen for me, so only a bit of S&S tomorrow, plus MOP THE FLOOR. Will do the bathroom too, I promise!

Good morning everyone
Your cakes are brilliant, Mumto5!
Sympathy to Dusty's DS3
Hope bossymoo had a great weekend
Narc0lepsy, we went to the garden centre on Saturday and I was sorely tempted to buy everything in sight
Enjoy choosing your new carpet, Deco
Well done to all who made progress last week :j
Thanks for the new list Natty, and to Dusty for last week's. I'm in again this week - mainly following my own schedule but enjoying the new style with its decluttering suggestions. Last week I managed to keep on top of everything and do a quick S&S all round the house every morning so that it always looks clean and tidy in case of viewings at short notice (I wish...)
If you had seen where my DH was living 4 years ago, you would not believe how much he has changed and how tidy he has become! Yes, the garage is still work in progress, but even that is beginning to look quite orderly! :A
Keep up the good influence, Flyladies :T
Rant alert (sorry - I know it's early in the day)
DH's employers have messed up again big time with the paperwork and less than a week before his final meeting with his line manager they have postponed his retirement
DH is naturally very upset - he had psyched himself up to finish work on Friday (not really wanting to go but realising that it would be the best thing for him to do), and now the BD is rearing its ugly head again. We could both do without this additional strain. We'd been looking forward to an end to all the hassle and bullying of the past three years and now this happens
Unfortunately there is little that he can do except wait for them to get their act together - if he just resigns, he won't get the severance pay they've offered him
Rant over (for now)
Today I have several loads of washing and a lot of paperwork to do, as well as three small parcels to post - a few more pounds dropped in the piggy bank- and I'm running my group this afternoon.
Hope everyone else has a good week. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks for the BD to all who need them. Will catch up with you all again later.0 -
I'm in again. Thanks Dusty and Natty for the lists.
Will get kitchen and bathroom floors done before I go to work.
Out Tuesday and Wednesday night this week. Working Monday and Tuesday.0 -
I'm in again - as well as the basic lists I'm aiming to spend half an hour a day decluttering in the spare room. I've managed to keep on top of the rest of the house for a while by dumping anything without a home in there, and the time will soon come when I won't be able to open the door.
decogecko I'd recommend carpet with a short nap which will be easier to Hoover pet hair out of, and something guaranteed bleachable (mine was bought to be dog and toddler proof, and so far I haven't had to use bleach, although the shampooer has been out a few times. Dog sick, baby milk vomit, coffee, coke...) Also get the thickest underlay you can afford - I got 12mm two years ago and it's still like what I can only describe as walking around in memory foam slippers.GC 2013: Jan £295/£300 Feb £287/£3000 -
Morning all. I got up early again with DH so I have already dusted LR, hoovered downstairs, sorted washing on airer and shampooed rug in LR. About to see what I can clear from the kitchen list before the paid stuff.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Good morning all and thanks for the lists xx
Anti pollen vibes or effective remedies for those suffering xx
Isn't it amazing what you can get done when you have someone to come look at the house!! Yesterday I did the spare room (has a few boxes in there but the floor, bed and dressing table are clear. Got DD to make her room tidy. Today, I have hovered upstairs and done HHI. I still want to hoover downstairs, clean the floors and clean up after dog............EA coming at 10..............!!!

thank you for the lists again Natty and Dusty. I'm in again
ionafan sorry to hear your DH is being messed about again at work, i hope things get sorted quickly and BD disappears back into its kennel.
mumto5 hope your party plans went well and all worked out
TMD hope your DD has a lovely birthday and you find the time and energy to make another cake
for hayfever suffers i read a spoonful of local honey a day through the season is meant t o ease symptoms, it must be local as that means its made from pollen in your area so you are supposed to build up a tolerance to it. - hope its not too bad for you this year i know what its like as DD3 is a sufferer.
hugs kind thoughts and good wishes where needed.
better go and make a start

Morning all
Thanks for the lists Natty and Dusty for last weeks.
Excitement here as empty pub at bottom of our road is/was on fire from the early hours so the main road is blocked off for quite some distance in either direction. Our road is like some sort of driving test centre with people reversing and doing 3-point-turns as they realise our road is blocked off as well :rotfl: Doesn't stop them trying to get through though, only a very large truck appears to have been let through, although I'd hate to have seen that reversing down the road like the bin lorry did
I have some paid stuff to do later, and I was supposed to be doing a big monthly grocery shop but I've hurt my knee so I'll opt for a top-up shop instead. So I'm going to try and get some computer based stuff done, and I'll do some ironing in HH bursts until its cleared. I have plenty I can watch on the TV while I do it
