Sorry for the very late reply.

Flash Sale's appear when you check out.

Add one expensive thing to your basket such as beer. Keep adding that same item until the basket is over £40 then check out. Flash sales appear so add them then go back and remove the beer and add what you really want.

It's so much quicker than leaving the house late to check for YS's.

Can we ask how much you can save doing this please? I'd like to try it xx

First shop since Friday and I hit Tesco at the right time for YS here. Spent £3.53 on:

    Wholemeal loaf
    Six rolls
    Six apple doughnuts
    Pack of chilli beetroot
    Chicken paste
    Tuna paste
    Frozen turkey

Up until recently used to get some cheap pies at local Morrisons, when they are on now its not as good but still great prices i.e used to be like 25p for 2 pack of those already cooked scotch/macaroni/chicken pies etc now its 39p still a wow price but not as good.

Apart from that its very random about discounts, its very rare they do cream cakes reduced but I prefer things like ready meals but they always have bread products cheap like muffins, rolls, bread etc normally 9p a pack.

Still have about 12 packs of tofu in freezer and 20 chunks of cheese (which are about £4 each normally but cost me like 15-30p each) and fish is cheap often too.

But you never know, I have been in times and been lucky to get something like 1 ready meal and other times get bags of stuff its rare meat is cheap though.

Local Asda can be good too but not to sound rude but the local Polish families go in groups and one or two stand at the reduced section whilst about 10 others go away and come back and they grab everything, one time saw a guy grab around 15 steaks reduced from £10 to like 30p and there was a queue of people behind him trying to get some and he saw us and just gave a blank big eyed look lol.

Thats why staff do sometimes get annoyed as you get regulars who grab things and push past them.

I normally talk to the staff and mention I am on low income and make food last a week and don't mean to be greedy (and often lets say I grab a lot of one thing and I see someone go to grab one I ask if they want one before I take them)

Worst place was M+S a few years back, regular people used to go in and pretty much empty the shelves, didn't help the normal member of staff who reduced stuff was a grumpy piece of work, remember one time waiting 10 minutes for him to reduce something whilst he started at me and gave me dirty looks for a old lady to come up and he turns to her and goes "do you want this" meaning she got everything.

And one of the regular greedy bargain hunters (who basically stalked the staff whilst they were reducing stuff) used to grin and tell people stuff like "first come first served" (despite wearing expensive clothes and with latest phone) and one time I decided to grab things first (I was there first anyway and waiting patiently and talking to staff member) and he tried butting past me to grab something and so I blocked him and he gave me the dirtiest look and outright made a huffing sound and looked really angry.

Didn't matter he had a overflowing basket of reductions already!

Funniest times was once in one town and once in another sandwiches were reduced to 10p and saw people just put their arms on the shelves and empty them into trolley, Im talking about 100-200 sandwiches there enough to make an empty trolley basically half full(the full size trolleys)
  • No yellow stickers for me tonight.
I've had ironing orders left right and centre since Monday, but it's money and I can't turn it down x

Wow! Their is no no need to be greedy. We are all out for one thing. Bargain food to help us save pennies. And we need food. No need for ignorance and bad manners.

When I get chance il have a look at the morrisons loop hole that's been mentioned, that's when I get chance.
At least I have work coming in thick and fast. I need the money and I'm doing what I can to help pay the bills.

Ps did you say steak at 30p l!!!! Wow!!!!!

  • Hit tescos the other night just st the right time as YS was shoved out on a trolley , pizzas (pizza xpress) for 30p and reduced fish and other stuff , very rare I manage to get it, clocked I think a regular YS as I walked down the aisle to checkout , her face was like thunder , however have seen her regularly grab YS when told not too by a member of staff as they are reducing, so it's good for someone else for a change , if I feel someone is more deserving I will leave it or hint/ pass it to them

Got loads of YS bargains this time last week when we passed Morrisons at about 8pm! Everything was 9p! Managed to get 10 ready meals for the freezer, a pack of 4 large scotch eggs and a trifle all for just over £1 in total :-D
  • Yellow stickers are what my freezer is full of - so when do you see them going on in your store? I know there is info on the site - but does it need an upgrade?

  • M&S currently have a 3 for £10 offer on some items. E.G. Salmon en-croute. many of the items are £4 each so seemed a decent buy. Picked up 3 items and went to till, not noticing that one item had a reduced sticker on. (£3.20). I was charged £11.20!

I pointed out that all the items were clearly marked Three for £10. "Yes, but one is reduced" said the assistant. "But you're charging me £1.20 more than the offer states?" I replied. "Well you cant have more than one offer" she says. "Then I'll pay full price for the reduced item". Nope, cant do that.....

So be careful, I only had the three items so it was noticeable - I wonder how many people M&S overcharge with this little scam?

Not really a scam then is it? More a "Scam".

And not just M&S, reduced items have a different bar code so are not part of offers anywhere afaik.
