    Hiya camNolliesMUMMY

I too love YS shopping - last year it allowed me to save £3,000 in order to move house. Its the sense of adventure and never knowing what you are gonna get! :D

But, slightly off thread, you can also save money in the cleaning department of the household - all you really need IMO is: bleach (for the loo); bathroom spray; kitchen spray (although this can do double duty as a bathroom spray); polish (if you have real wood furniture - otherwise a damp cloth will do); stardrops (for the really greasy bits); floor cleaner (for areas you need to mop/wipe). These are all v cheap from the likes of A!di or L!dil or Pou!land. The number of households I go into and find 0 or 30 cleaning products!!

If you need a slight scouring or deoderising microwaves or fridges use bicarbonate of soda!

Also money saving is teaching whole of household to shut doors and wear jumpers/fleeces in the winter.

But keep on YSing - I think the money saving journey is very interesting and I am learning all the time!! (often thanks to my MSE friends!) :A

Sorry to ask but what is a morrisons flash sale? Is it just for online shopping? If it is, how do you know when they are?

    Many thanks x

Sorry for the very late reply.

Flash Sale's appear when you check out.

Add one expensive thing to your basket such as beer. Keep adding that same item until the basket is over £40 then check out. Flash sales appear so add them then go back and remove the beer and add what you really want.

It's so much quicker than leaving the house late to check for YS's.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Hi I currently clean my own home and my customers homes with zaflora in a spray bottle for their kitchen and bathrooms, this works out cheap and smells lush. i just dilute it in a used spray bottle with water.. ive used this for years and my clients as well as family always mention how lovely it smells.

I also mop with zaflora. i buy a huge can of polish from our bargain shop at £1 a can. Because i buy them in for cleaning properties i use them all in my home too saving me money.

I never use bleach in customer house in case of any accidents and acciedentaly bleaching their carpet or towels etc. and woth the gorgeous scents from the zaflora i get awesome feedback, plus hubby hates the smell of bleach .

I tend to steam clean microwaves using a bowl of water, heat for 5 mins then wipe clean.

I will continue to YS save, but i really need to stock up on meat!!! Im going tomorrow night to see if i can find anything as today was a let down. apart from some cartons of roast chick and veg soups reduced to 15p. Thats my luch sorted for the week. :T

Today we ate our 25p roast beef brisket and reduced veg 10p.
For pudding iced buns 5p for 7 and a donut each 33p for 5!!!

We are already eating better than before with some lovely treats and costing us pennies.

I used to use Zoflora but once I got a vomiting bug and the smell kinda got mixed up in my head with the smell of vomit because I used it to clean up after myself and I have never liked it since. But if you are a professional cleaner then I was 'teaching me grandma to suck eggs' as it were. My appologies!
But hopefully your and my discussion might be useful for others :D

    Hi

I love YS shopping although I have to be careful that I don't buy things that end up languishing in the freezer.

The thing I hate is greedy people who form a barrier with themselves & their trolley to stop anyone else being able to look.

That actually became a problem for me - I ended up eating lots (and lots!) of sweet treats for pennies and no actual real food :o

It took a lot for me to quit eating sugar and I'm not going back!
