Eta: if the truckles are 80g, this still equates to £6.25/kg. If the Stilton is 500g, then that's just £2/kg and a good price.
the 50p small cheeses are the ones I got for 10p last year. Best before date on the ones in my local Sainsburys are 4th Jan , so I would check on Sunday0 -

I've heard of clean living, but that's ridiculous!0 -
I did quite well at my big Tesco on NYE. Large fillet steaks, normally around the £7 each mark, reduced to £3 each. So I bought 3 of those, as steak is something I love, but normally a real luxury.
Also got 2 YS packs of chicken kievs. A family fave, reduced from £2.50 to £1.50.Because it's fun to have money!
£0/£70 August GC
£68.35/£70 July GC
January-June 2019 = £356.94/£4200 -
Sainsbury have their Christmas Canapes down to 50p pack. Not much left but got some spring rolls and jalapeño poppers. Mince pies down to 50p pack and panetonne down to £1.25 but they had been cleared out0

Hi everyone, good to see you all getting bargains. Managed to get six packets of finest Cumberland sausages (6 sausages per pack) for 35p each today, really pleased as the little Sox all like sausages so will keep them and Mr Sox happy! Our big Tescos don't seem to have had any Christmas reductions at all this year, either that or I was too late. I've noticed here that no one seems very interested in the reductions section in the little Tesco but the big Tesco has people all but following the reduction person around0

Hi everyone,
I'm going on a big bargain hunting kick so i've been stopping off on my way home from work at Morrisons (as it is en route) to check on the bargains most nights and it's been a bit hit and miss.
Yesterday though i bought a few bits i needed and thought i would treat myself to some dried fruit which was reduced. It was the the little snack packs of dried cranberries usually 70p each reduced to 19p. I restricted myself to 2 packs as it was a treat not a necessity but when they went through the checkout i noticed the multibuy offer took off 38p when i bought the 2 packs! So i immediately went back and picked up the last 10 packs. The checkout operators face was a picture when he realised they were free! I do love to beat the system
Also managed to get 1kg of potatoes for 35p yesterday and 2 packs of 3 cinnamon swirls for 25p each.
I also got 2 meatball skewers from the butchers for 5p last week. They were very small but i added a sausage and a jacket potato and they went down a treat.
Also a random bargain of a jar of Sharwoods Jalfrezi sauce for 35p but i couldn't figure out why it was reduced as it is dated June and there is no damage to the packaging. They were on offer at £1 but 65p was still a considerable reduction for no reason (Not that i'm complaining!)
Been a bit dissappointed with the xmas reductions though this year.0 -

Could be a combination of these factors:
. Supermarkets making fewer lines. I remember about four years ago, the large Sainsburys had a third of a chiller aisle with buffet food. Now it was just a quarter of that. As I bought loads of buffet food for 10p.
. Making less of them
. Getting the order numbers rightThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I suspect you are right. As it got closer to the holiday I noticed that the supermarkets I use (except Aldi) had less on sale than I'd expected and some actually ran out of certain items just before Christmas Eve - particularly turkeys. One had completely sold out of specially packaged sweets, biscuits and cakes.
I suppose this is good but it does take some of the fun out of shopping!0 -
