Reduced bargains and yellow stickers shopping

A rough rule of thumb, at least for Tesco, is four to five hours before they close but depends on store, manager and staff availability. It pays to do your homework and get to know your own store and the lads doing the reductions.0

This will only be of use to you in the North but I picked up some bargains in Jack Fultons this morning. Packs of hot smoked salmon reduced to 60p (would have been around the £3 mark in Sainsbo's.) Seven packets went in my basket and now in my freezer! They were also selling off rounds of Brie for 50p and small gammon joints £1.49. Alas no Stilton reduced - yet!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Managed to get lots of bargains in M***sons & Mr T's today.
Only wandered into town as I needed bread. All reduced meat was 25p an item in M's.
Best deal was their carvery ham. 2 packs for 25p each and the till deducted 50p as part of a multi- save therefore costing 0p!!::j
Freezer now full. £97.85 worth of shopping for £17.20- will keep my little family going for whole of January.0 -
All I managed to pick up last night was a haul of reduced cream to make butter today and some salad bits down to 5p.
I'm going back to look for cheese today0 -
Sainsbury had half moons of stilton down to £1 today, picked up a couple for soup. Some small wax covered cheeses down to 50p and pate 50p which I didn't bother with.
I picked up 8 packs of sausage meat down from £2.50 to 34p pack0 -

Eta: if the truckles are 80g, this still equates to £6.25/kg. If the Stilton is 500g, then that's just £2/kg and a good price.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Co op might be worth checking, they tend to have a fair bit of seasonal food reduced.0

My nearest Aldi looked like it had been hit by a plague of locusts this afternoon - yards of empty shelf space where the bread usually grazes and echoing voids where the meat once roamed.
Still, there were some very useful bargains on cakes (fruit cake freezes well!) and chocolates, which is more than can be said for a local Sainsbury's a couple of days ago, or Waitrose today.
The moral? It's still worth looking to see what's left.0 -
Got a covent garden carrot and butternut squash, currently £1 in Morrisons but in the reduced section for 35p. I was having soap for my dinner so I took this one instead! Coupled in with a small tin bread made it about £1.10 for my dinner (bread weren't reduced):money::rotfl::T0
