What's the best time to go to for the reduced stuff on Christmas Eve? was thinking about an hour before closing.

yes - that is fairly normal for food reductions. If you have time I have also found reduced gift/novelty Christams type items mid-morning.
  • Thanks dlusman will be sending hubby as I hate the scrum to get stuff :rotfl:

Thanks Wizzbang, had no idea that Co-op did gluten free bread, we have two small stores in our town so will have a nose.

On Monday I visited a new Marks & Spencer and bought a 400g sliced loaf for 2.99  plus the last two 535g Genius brown sliced loaves at Sainsbury's for 2.90 each. Gluten free bread is horrendously expensive so I was pleased to get some YS GF rolls at Sainsbos for 1.49 although that's 49p more as YS than I used to pay for 4 organic seeded wholemeal rolls full price at Sainsbury's !

My mother does have a rummage in the reduced section and she found me some organic English apples too :T
    Hello,

Maybe it would be cheaper for you to buy gluten free flour and make bread yourself. 1kg of flour would allow you to make two 750g loaves.

Since I have been doing Sw the reduced items have been less suitable to me.

I was in Sainsburys today and my goodness they had masses of excellent items reduced at lunch time.

Sainsburys today - a pack of 10 chicken kiev bites for 75p. Got home and there were 12 inside the pack. No indication on the box that 10 was the average contents.

It depends if they got loads of one line left. Normally they reduce the CE dated stuff first then CD stuff. Couldn't tell you if they have a line with these two dates if they reduce them to the same price or not.

If the shop is shut Xmas day then 24th and 25th dated stuff is treated the same.

In my Morries today they have reduced 22nd and 23rd. Although 23rd reductions only have a small % off.
  • Got a packet of chicken breast pieces for £2 this morning, saves me cooking for the OH later as he can just use up a jar of curry sauce! Injured my thumb yesterday slicing cabbage and still a bit numb at the top!
