I got Tesco finest chicken and mushroom lattice originally £5.50 reduced to 58p and I picked up four of them. Freezable and can be cooked from frozen too. We had it for dinner last night and it was really tasty, although wouldn't pay full price for it these days!January grocery challenge £0/£300

Been to Tesco's today, about half hour before closing time (never been on a Sunday before) - got to say, people are mental! I thought I'd check out the reduced fridge section, as I always do in supermarkets, but wow!
People go crazy for a bargain! I'm 6 months pregnant but still had two different people push me out of the way to get the section before I could, and all for nothing mostly as the shelves were already practically cleared out!
I did manage to pick up a pack of 6 Tesco Finest sausage rolls though, reduced from £2 to just 20p - nice!
There were loads of Warburton's loaves still with 2 days on the date at just 15p, but unfortunately we have no room in the freezer and we only bought a fresh loaf yesterday to use so had to give those a miss.0 -
That's interesting about the warburtons loaves because in our store also they had loads of warburtons things on the reduced counter with 4th june on them. I managed to get 10 items which I also had some nice 30p coupons for so I got paid to take them away and no need to put them in the freezer either.0

Nice to see some supermarkets know what they're doing for a change! The Warburtons (and any other items) with a '2' next to the date should be taken off 2 days before the best before date. You find a lot don't do this though, unfortunately. Mummy to an amazing little girl0

The other week in Asda, I picked up 2 packs of haddock and a pack of lamb mince in the reduced. A few aisles down, a lady had the cheek to remove them from my trolley and into hers. Down the toiletries aisle, she abandoned her trolley and I whipped out those items and replaced them with the full price items. No-one else was down the aisle.
I had some photos to develop and saw the woman going through the checkout and those full price items were scanned and she never queried them, checked the receipt or approached the CSD. I only paid £2.10 for my items and she paid £8.50-£10 for hers!0 -
I do wonder with customers mentioned in the posts about buying all of the fruit and veg reduced in Tesco and 30 packs of sandwiches would actually use all of the food? Its false economy if you bought something in the reduced and then binned it?

The bloody cheek of some people! I don't know how they dare!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I was shopping in Morrisons today. I always pop to the reduced fridge section as we often find goodies in there, and it was stacked to practically over-flowing - piles of yellow-stickered stuff! Then I saw the measly reductions. Items that need using today that were £2.49 at full price reduced to only £2.05. Other priced items that barely had anything taken off as well.
Our Morrisons has always been stingy with it's reductions, but they were really taking the mick today lol. I walked away with nothing as none of it was worth it.
Seems you can't beat Tesco for yellow stickered items, but everyone knows that so you gotta get there at the right time if you want anything.0
