I bought bread for 50p was 1.15 and organic rolls for 30p today and the person I was with grabbed all the other reduced food quick had no look in they even asked for my bread they had 2 already kept hold of it tight and didn't say anything did mention later on had only one slice of bread at home.Don't usually have problems with strangers only that they block the fridge so can't get to it and that as soon as they see you looking at reduced items they come over and they grab before you get to it never used to me like that I used to be the only one at reduced sections times have changed credit crunch.Need to be quicker on my feet.0

I couldn't believe my eyes when I was shopping in Morrisons today. I always pop to the reduced fridge section as we often find goodies in there, and it was stacked to practically over-flowing - piles of yellow-stickered stuff! Then I saw the measly reductions. Items that need using today that were £2.49 at full price reduced to only £2.05. Other priced items that barely had anything taken off as well.
Our Morrisons has always been stingy with it's reductions, but they were really taking the mick today lol. I walked away with nothing as none of it was worth it.
Seems you can't beat Tesco for yellow stickered items, but everyone knows that so you gotta get there at the right time if you want anything.
Depends what time you go. They don't knock much off in the morning. Why would they when they still have all day to sell it. They get cheaper later on before closing.0 -
This might have been asked before but I can't find it, I'm fairly new to yellow sticker shopping.
When does Tesco usually reduce their prices, I can't seem to catch it at my local Tesco Express.
If I do catch it the reductions don't seem to be that great. Is there a knack to this?Second Purse Challenge

Yes - the knack is "do your own research"
All stores , even within the same chain , seem to do they own policies which work best for them. Start by going along on various different days around a couple of hours before closing ( or around 6/7 pm if a 24hr store ) , and if you dont find anything they try later or earlier.
Also , dont go expecting to find reductions , treat it as a bonus.0 -

I usually find that weeknights around 7:30-8ish, our big tesco start there reductions.
It can be quite intimidating as somme shoppers stand over the employees whislt they do the stickers - ready to pounce!!
Sunday morning is usually quite a good time, going in during the browsing time before they can actually put your shopping through.
Also, I don't know if anyone else has found this but in some departments/aisles they have their own reductions not just in the allocated reductions fridge.Christmas budget £266.38/£535 15/27gifts

Oh I know, but I also used to work at said store, often until closing, and most things still don't get much more knocked off them. It's silly really as they'll only end up in the bin if people don't buy them.
One good thing just before closing though is their own items from the bakery, which usually all get reduced to 9p for around the last half hour the store's open.0 -

The above 4 posts emphaise the point I was making that there is not one set time even within the same chain - You really have to do your own research for your own local stores/area0
