Sure, that will not count as DD.But still count as right move.
1k bouncing between the NW and Hfax, using fast transfer,to be on safe side.At the end I'll qualify for the 5% (NW) and the £5 (Hfax)
    I'm right?
    cheers

You would at present but not from May 1, when Halifax change the requirements for the monthly reward.

Halifax are part of Lloyds so I guess the two DDs don't need to be active like on the Vantage a/c.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but to get the £5 Halifax reward they do have to be active.

    Has been discussed at length.

The Halifax T&Cs are quite clear in that they say you'll only get your £5 if the DDs are PAID. So 2 10 month DDs won't get you a fiver for two months of the year.

I applied yesterday for the nationwide but did not receive a confirmation email - should I have done?

And thanks for the heads up on the Halifax reward ts&cs. I will sort that out to make sure I still get the £5 on my otherwise dormant acc.

I didn't get an email, and others on here have also said they haven't, so don't think they send one

What is a good gap to wait between opening accounts (in terms of marks on your credit)? Or is there one at all? I have only had the normal Flex Account for two months so can't do an upgrade yet and would need to open a new account to get the FlexDirect (or just wait a month I guess)...
