Beside all been said here:
All you need to get the 5% interest: £2500 sitting (frozen) on the account+ Set DB from an external account £1000 each calendar month in and out.Bearing in mind the time frame of the transfer that can take up to 4/5 working days exc:week-end,bank holidays.
My question is : Is it worth it for the £125 xYear? When Halifax offering £5 each month for £1000 IN and OUT= £5x12=£60?
feel free to offer me smart recommendations (beyond, cheese euros, wine, gold, silver, the mattress or child trafficking)
thanks

Get an account with both institutions.
£2500 with Nationwide @ 5% = £125 PA before tax from Nationwide.
Transfer £1000 out to Halifax and back in again using same day faster payments = £60 PA from HalifaxDo Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -

The 1k can remain in the Halifax account for as long as it takes you to either transfer it out again or move it between your other reward accounts.0

Did anyone who has managaed to open more than one account, do them on the same day? (I think someone said they had opened four.)
hi
I opened 3, all on the same day and have now funded them all up to the £2.5k to wait and see if they'll give the full 5% on all 3 of them.
I opened all 3 online as Im already a nationwide customer and it was easy enough to do. Just did one after the other after the other!

According to Halifax T&C ,want you to set up at least 2 DD.to get the £5 x m.I agree with you to open an account with both (NW and Hfax) then set fast payment IN and OUT and let both banks work for you.feasible?
