Nationwide FlexDirect C/A - 5% on 2K5 no fee

Are you sure that it wont pay interest on the full amount say £2510?
I was under the impression it would be similar to other banks, so that anything OVER £2500 would not get any interest on. So if you had £2510, the £10 wouldnt get any interest on it.
Manually skim it off and drip feed it into another account, perhaps a regular saver, ISA or another current account.
I will probably put all interest into one of my lloyds CV accounts and when it builds up from all income, to above £2k, will probably setup a new account with nationwide and put into that, as the interest rates will be better.
sorry i wasnt particularly clear. I meant it wont earn interest on the balance OVER £2.5k0 -

This is important information assuming what you have mentioned is accurate.
My understanding is that you said you will also get 5% for the 2nd and 3rd A/C ?
This is contrary to other people experiences who are also posting in this forum
- Could you please share your knowledge where did you get this information from ?
- Is there any document. link that people could refer which mentioned that we will still get 5% for the 2nd and 3rd a/c:0 -

Thank you for taking the time to apply today"
What I am doing wrong? any idea?
thank you!
I am also a Nationwide customer. I thought I had a very good internal rating with them. Except when applying for Flex Direct I had the same reply.
My Experian credit file is perfect with not missed payments etc, I queried the reason for the decline and was told due to 'internal credit checks' this was the reason I was declined.

Applications currently closed for 'essential maintenance'!!:mad:0

Just try it yourself, then you will know...;)0 -
When I opened my Flexaccount with Nationwide nearly 10 years ago it was paying interest of 4.75%. That was withdrawn soon after.0

Well if I need to experiment by myself I do not not to ask info from this forum. Similarly to other members if they just want to experiment themselves they do not need a discussion forum.
I think this is the spirit of a discussion forum. Sharing knowledge, learning from other people past experience who has done it to avoid pitfalls, similar mistakes ......0 -
I've just hit a stumbling block. Long story, but basically Mr GG & I don't live together. Just went to apply for a new account and it has me down as living at Mr GG's address, which I have never done. Have changed it, but says it will take a few days to update and can't apply in meantime. No doubt account will be withdrawn by then....... or if I do get it opened Mr GG will then have the same problem as it will have moved him as well
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

No pain no gain. :T If you want any proof, wait next month, then I could update you with more info. By the way, please don't just pick and choose what you like in my posts. I didn't say you definitely would get the 5% interest for the number 2, 3 or 4 account. So, there is no proof, no link, no whatsoever to provide you at the moment.0 -
