The new charts I've seen do not show the 5mm requirement and my mail centre say that the earliest they would be changed is on the next price change next April. They are happy to accept all my airmail under 100g as a letter as long as I have an item of correspondence in there. However, and it is a big however, they are no longer taking airmail over the counter unless already stamped or franked- and as my two local POs both require all airmail items to go as a packet it leaves other sellers with no alternative.Lot of the POs received an SD cardboard thing today
possibly the cube gauge?
I'll ask mine when I go in today. They have the standard card gauges already though and were handing them out yesterday to some very confused people who knew nothing about the changes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Nothing other than "some point in the future" - given Royal Mail have just printed hundreds of thousands of copies of the new price guide with no mention of the 5mm restriction, the assumption is that it's not imminent as any change will invalidate all those guides.0 -
had my phone call this morning:j:j
looks as though they are not sending out any terms etc until the 2 - 3 April.
so at least I know in about 2 - 3 weeks My account will be up and running.( fingers crossed)
by all accounts they are getting loads of inquries, and they are refusing loads, as they are not going to be sending out the min of 1000 parcels/packets...Work to live= not live to work0 -
About the 5mm, this is just a theory but I think the International Postal Union Convention says a letter can be anything up to 5 kilos, and unless Roiyal Mail can opt out of that, that is why they have to accept small packets with letters.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Does anyone know of a couriers where you don't need a printer? As I'm assuming no one is going to be buying things with £8 or £5.30 postage. I still want to sell but don't want to buy a printer as I wouldn't be using it enough to justify it.0

Flipper, I don't know any that don't use a printer, In your case I would be using "export to pdf" and emailing that pdf to a friend with a printer at work or home.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. seriously?
printers are dirt cheap
personally I prefer to do a printed address label over hand written where possible
I hardly use my printer but its 'costs' are minimal given it just sits there till its needed0 -
Its the cost of the ink more than the actual printer, as i wouldnt use it that much the ink would dry up and end up costing me more.0

I thought about emailing it and printing it elsewhere, but don't want to impose on people0
