I am ordering labels in at the moment. I am ordering the new 24/48 labels which can be used from April, the old style ones can be used until June.
The Airmail labels stay the same - I am ordering from these guys http://www.ppi-labels.co.uk/id108.html as it's easier and cheaper than printing from home for the time being...
    Do these look right then?
You can get the blue 'By Air Mail / Par Avion' stickers free from Royal Mail. If they haven't sent you any already you can order them online. At the moment I use a 1st class PPI impression for Airmail (still not sure if this is changing or not) and stick a separate Airmail sticker on.

That's exactly what I do. I also buy packs if uncut label sheets from staples and print my own ppi labels. I assume we still use the red and green postage labels on the bags ?

I assume so. I haven't been told anything about any new stationery so far. In fact I haven't been told about new PPI impressions for 24/48 as far as I can see either!

Just checked RM's PPI generator and there are no new options on there either.

My mail centre now have a stock of cardboard size gauges and price charts. Unfortunately the price charts are the same style that eBay are using and show only the 8cm maximum depth for a small parcel and no exemptions.

I took them in my own print out, but they are saying that whilst the exemptions appear clear online, they do not appear on anything officially sent to them yet.

My small rural post office have been sent a cube box thing, think she said it was cardboard for the 16cm exemption so they should be getting them. At least they knew about it!

I am going to have to find myself a PO with a cube gauge as I want to make absolutely definitely sure my new boxes won't cause any argument.

Today I went into a PO which is my back-up when the local one is shut and they had made themselves a cube, as they said they'd had nothing through from RM about it all (seems hard to believe, since they seemed well versed in the new sizes).

Oh, and they said they were expecting plenty of arguments, and to be sent customers from the other local rural sub-POs, who won't have a clue.

  • My little PO are expeting the cube, know about the exceptions. Today I got the business pack through and there is mention of the exceptions in the pack (on paper not only online). Any more news on the airmail letters 5mm and when that's coming in would be useful.
