    Good news to report, I got approved for a 0% credit card today :j I know the advise is generally not to do this and I can understand the reasons as it must be temping to put more onto the card, but I haven't put anything on credit cards for months now so think I am passed that stage. Just looking forward to actually paying off debt rather than interest. 0% for 17 months so the plan is to be debt free within that time.
  • Another payment to my loan knocks off another 4% of my debt.

    67% to go!!

    Keep going, you will get there!

    My debts are spread over 3 cards. Virgin has quite a bit Santander less but still too much and a barclays one with very little one. I am doing my 100% from the Virgin card to start as I think doing all the debt will be a bit much for me and I will lose focus. Barclays have offered me 05 balance transfer until Nov 214 which I will look into tomorrow. I am waiting for payments to track in quidco and for a few payments in paypal and I will be able to cash out and pay off (not counting until i have paid it off the debt) 2% I know it's not a huge amount but if i do that 50 more times I will have paid off my virgin card :)

    I have created and printed off a little chart to stick on the fridge and got some stickers so I can track my progress and have a reminder each morning (coffee time) about the need to be good :)

    Good luck all x

  • hi i'm really intrested in this challenge.
    I don't have any debt so I'd like to know if i can use this to build up my savings.

    my saving goal is £3,000 by 2015, so the 1% is £30.00

    If I could join to build up my savings,
    I'm a little confused about some things;

    Every time I make £30.00 for my savings that's 1% isn't it so I'd colour in one square when I've made/saved £30.00 ?

    I'm also confused on how to work out the percentage of progress I've made...

    Sorry if i sound dumb, maths isn't my strong point.

    Hi Charleybear, yes 1% of £3,000 is £30. Colour in a square every time you save £30. Then to work out the % you've saved so far, just count how many squares you've coloured in.
  • Thanks so just a final thing, 1 square coloured in is 1% progress?

    I'd like to join to save 1% of 3000 (£30) starting today if I can please.
